So, yesterday we had two games where on one side was a good team and on the other side was a team that did not belong and the only strategy they thought they could have a chance was unsportsmanlike behavior and violent fouls. I am sure you guys also saw the horrible foul that the American player committed that forced a red card. I know FIFA is corrupt but if they do not reign in on the shit behavior, the big name players will either not show up to the competition or will not put in their full effort all in fear of injury and abuse.

Comments: It’s been an interesting WC with some amazing players, good teams and, unfortunately, strange calls made or not made! VAR and its use has been the worst I have ever seen. It’s not about Iran only but that was obvious. The lack of control by FIFA to force the host to do its best to make the entire tournament fair. There were too many bad calls using VAR. calls that were possibly and technically correct but should not be called if so questionable. There were also obvious calls that would required VAR review but ignored depending on the teams that were favorite! Overall, it seems the game is getting more physical. I noticed that the refs are not calling foul or showing cards when it seems obvious. FIFA is going to make more money than before. Ticket prices, more teams and stupid hydration breaks just to get more commercials!!!
Comments: Faramarz, I watched most of France - Paraguya game today, and the entire game was very violent. The Uzbek referee let them foul each other as much as they wanted to, and French were very upset about it. The Paraguay players were very rough the entire game, similar to what you saw during the last 10 minutes, although at the end the frequency of violence got much more. French were clearly the better side and Paraguay took them out of their game but still lost.

Comments: I thought the Canadians displayed a disgraceful unsportsmanship behavior on the field. Hacking and roughing up the opponent should never be a strategy. Paraguay - France game was pretty rough too the last 10 minutes. I am not sure how the rest of the game was and what led to a rough game. The Canadians came in from the get go intending to stop the opponents with fouls and dirty play. |
