The overall cost of this war is easily over a trillion if you consider that we do not just have to replace all the ammunition used by US military, and all the aircrafts lost (which they are not admitting). We also have to

1. do this for Israel.
2. Then we have all the destroyed bases. USA has to either abandon them or rebuild them. Either way, that little gen is several billion dollars (I think the estimate was 50 billion just by itself).
3. then we have to pay for Israel to reconstruct all the war damage. I estimate this to be easily over $100B. But given the corruption on both Israeli and US side, this can easily be triple that in total.
4. If you thought bailing out large companies was a mistake, you will have a fit with this one: GCC countries will also hit USA for bail out. Many already have. 
5. Reperation in Iran. Iran will either insist on keeping the toll boot, or go to UN for cost of war damage. After Trump, it is highly likely that whoever who comes into the office might be agreeable to pay this compensation. If Iran keeps the toll boot, it will mean a global tax on everything.

The consequences go on and on. Here, I have not included the skyrocketing food prices, gas prices, and everything else that we have to pay year after year.
