Comments: مرسی فرامرز جان خوی خلاصه کردی. فکر میکنی این اعتراضات تا کجا پیش میره. آیا شانسی برای مردم هست آیا در رژیم تحولی خواهد بود. آیا مردم پیروز خواهند شد؟ اعتراضات مثل ویروس داره گسترده میشه.

Comments: Zinsky jAn, shAh made a strategic mistake no doubt. But he was forced to make that decision because his military was collapsing (or at least was made to look that way to him). His mistake, IMO was not to listen to the Americans. It was in trusting them that they would do what is right for him and his country. He trusted the same people he was battling in the background for his last four years or so. That was a terrible mistake. I also think he underestimated or did not recognize how much of his military, especially SAVAK, was actually controlled by the Americans. I do not think he realized how much of what was happening was being stages by the three divisions of SAVAK that remained in tact even after the enghelAb.

Comments: Looks like people needed a reminder of how Iran played under CQ. This win does a lot of good to relieve pressure internally and keep away the lashkhors like GN or Estili. The constant parasites like MK and Aziz will also now have to shut up. Still I cannot believe the improvement. This cannot all be CQ. It must have partially, also be the destruction of the previous system (or lack of it). Other possibility is that these players knew how to play like this just refused intentionally out of a reaction to Skocic. I do not know. I just know that this much improvement cannot be the result of a two day camp!

Comments: Faramarz, Unfortunately for Iranians back home, the existing system knows exactly what will happen to them if they pack and leave. They saw it 1st hand when Shah was asked to leave and then was kicked around the world until he died. If Shah knew his faith back then (being abounded by America, British and the rest of the West) , he wouldn’t have left either.
Comments: Internet access is a two way communication. It’s not only where it comes from (satellite, tower, cable, …). It is also about the devices being used to reach it. One can’t just provide internet connection without specific device to receive it for each type of service. Then is the ISP. An ISP typically serves as the access point or the gateway that provides a user access to everything available on the Internet. This is where one can block certain websites. It’s relatively easy to go around this using various techniques which Iranians have been using for years, both for their pleasure and going around the system in Iran. Satellite communication seems like a great idea but requires satellite devices either on people’s hand or relayed by earth devices to their devices already owned.
Comments: I was thinking what is the difference between what is happening now and 40+ years ago. Do not have numbers to compare but this may be even more widespread. The big difference: No one from outside is ordering the military to lay down their weapons and join the people.
