Intelligence communities are pretty interesting and what we know of their role to be is not all that they do. For example, we think CIA is doing its best to undermine a country's regime when the USA is in public war affair with them. In reality though, they may be doing that (usually what they say in public is all bullshit), but they also have official direct lines to the highest enemy country's intelligence advisors. This role, IMO, plays a much more critical role in the west's foreign policy. This is the arm that delivers the message of more pressure (if you do not abide) to the enemy or the message of "we need a soupop" to the US government when one is needed. This is in fact the executive arm of dirty western politics.

That really sucks. So close. And yet so far. One point away from Division A!

The team did well though. They should be proud.

The 40 year old relationship between Iran and USA is a love/hate relationship that could turn into a movie!
It is obvious that neither side is fully in or out! They play a game behind the curtain and get people all excited for no reason.
As of today, America/West don’t want or need for IRI to go away. Keep them alive but weak. Take some and give some. Max pressure and release when needed.
Max pressure for people, not the system.

D rinking water for 70% of the population of Bushehr Province will be provided by water desalination units in the near future, the deputy for engineering affairs at Iran Water and Wastewater Company said.
“Currently, the water desalination facilities in the southern province produce 45,000 cubic meters of freshwater per day and when the new projects are completed, the figure will reach about 100,000 cubic meters per day by the end of the current Iranian year (March 2023),” Majid Aqazadeh was also quoted as saying by the Energy Ministry’s news portal.
“The province has a population of about 1.5 million people and only 10% of the drinking water required in the province are supplied by desalination plants, but when the ongoing projects become operational, the figure will reach 40%,” he added.

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico (AP) — Hurricane Hilary headed for Mexico’s Baja California Saturday as the U.S, National Hurricane Center predicted “catastrophic and life-threatening flooding” for the peninsula and for the southwestern United States, where it is forecast to make land as a tropical storm on Sunday.
Officials as far north as Los Angeles scrambled to get the homeless off the streets, set up shelters and prepare for evacuations.
Hilary is expected to plow into the Mexican peninsula on Saturday night and then surge northward and enter the history books as the first tropical storm to hit Southern California in 84 years.

Hi Farid
Both defeat of Australia by England and Sweden was the result of having no women league in here and relying on the players to go to Europe to get better. Both of the 2 teams were more professional and fitter teams than ours. But placing 4th in world cup is not too bad when other strong teams were eliminated earlier.
God bless Iran and Australia.
Fred

Zinsky, as far as I know there is only one that the germans started building and the the Russians in several rounds. Whether it was ever finished or maintained is another question. But I think Iran now has developed its own nuclear technology and does not rely on the Russians who have backed out several times.

But there may be more now! I do not know.

Saudi crown prince meets Iran's foreign minister as relations thaw

DUBAI, Aug 18 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Friday in the highest-level talks since the countries reconciled in March after years of bitter rivalry that destabilised the region.

After the meeting, Iran's semi-official news agency Tasnim reported Abdollahian as saying the de facto Saudi ruler had accepted his invitation to visit Tehran.

The Saudi crown prince has pushed to reorient Saudi foreign policy in recent years amid troubles in its historically close relationship with the United States.
