Iran has been trying to evade sanctions and continue selling its oil abroad, while the U.S. and its allies have been seizing cargoes since 2019 after the country’s nuclear deal allowing the trade collapsed.

Comments: Zinsky jAn, in terms of sanctions, I think it is ridiculous to think that it has any benefits for the people in Iran. This is obviously not true. And that is all that matters. In terms of what it does to the government in Iran, I'd like to refer to the strategy that Rashti listed. The strategy is to use economic tools to exercise pressure on the government to get them do what west wants them to do which is never what people need for a country like Iran with resources. A side effect of it is also that it amplifies corruption and public theft in desperation. End result is not to overthrow the government but rather to allow the theft of the country's resources by foreign powers. So, I think sanctions are the worst thing for our people. Obama took a big step in doing this. But this is not a party specific thing. All administrations do this.

Comments: As you know I’ve been arguing against sanctions as it’s been implemented. As hard and tough as they make it sound, there is a threshold that neither side will cross. America pushes hard but let it get relaxed when it gets too hard. IRI also kicks and punches but not hard enough to cause a real crisis.
Comments: Fred from Australia, I did not know Australia does not have women's leagues. Definitely, it is time to start it. From what I saw, another factor was the ball watching in defense. This may be related to form, but more so, it may be related to not having a league and regularly having a tough competition. I think they were not mentally ready for that high a level of competition.
