Comments: I love the dives by keepers. #6 with an awesome distance shot and english keeper with a great looking dive. These dives are missing from the men's game- a shame! 
Comments: England is now starting to hack. Was wondering when their unsportsmanlike characteristics will come out. They are one of the few teams that only believe in fair play when they are winning. Finally #11 gets a yellow after several very harsh fouls. One of them, as soon as the second half started. So, preplanned.
Comments: Spain plays the conservative 3 back system but allowing #19 and #2 the sides of the three back to run up and join the offense. They r both speedy and very skilled, creating all sorts of issues for england.
Comments: #6 is also very good. And so is #2. Farid, #19 is very good and scored the goal but I actually think #6 is the MVP. She plays her position superbly. She is the central midfielder. Not only she is doing a great job of that but also plays a Beckenbauer like libero. All over the field setting up the forwards with numerous chances in offense but also dominates the midfield in defense and does not let the english players breath there. She is the reason why the english cannot have more than two passes in a row!

Comments: Hamvatan, I think you are absolutely right in that they are the new gold standard. Other teams need to rise to this level. There was a clear difference. I also think that Japan under performed after the group stage. The rest of the teams, I felt were a notch lower in terms of their techniques and especially tactics..

Comments: Spain was a level above all other teams. The possession, Tiki-Taka style (Barca system), playing under control (no booting of the ball), most shots on target and few mistakes made it enjoyable to watch them. They are the new gold standard in women's football.

Aside from Spain, Sweden, Japan, and england can be mentioned. United State's team paralleled our own TM with politics undermining the team.
