Comments: Yes SCO is important. What's interesting is that it took 15 years for Iran to get into SCO but joining BRICS was done in less than a year. That's a sign of how Iran has risen at the world stage recently. None of the talking heads at BBC, International, VOA, Manoto, Radio Farda predicted it and all were saying Iran will not be able to join BRICS anytime soon just recently. I predict Iran is now going to make major changes in it's economic policies. The first will be a single exchange rate for the dollar. That's paramount in order to be able to benefit from joining BRCIS economically. I am not saying the US lost everything but they failed to achieve anything from their sanctions towards Iran. Which in turn makes me suspect that the US is actually with China in regards to Iran now but can not say it publicly because of the AIPAC goons in Washington. The release of Iranian funds and the prisoner exchange is another sign of the US finally admitting the failure of their past policies towards Iran and working with China.

Comments: It's all about China and how they are changing the global order. All Iran wanted was to be integrated in the world as is with no preconditions. The US because of the influence of AIPAC can not possibly do this. But China has been able to do it and Iran is now coming in from the cold. Improved relations with Saudi and UAE and now joining BRICS is the early signs of a new Iran in the world stage. This in turn requires Iran to change some of it's policies to be able to fully benefit from it's new position in the world. Comments: Busy past few days and so, sorry for spamming with several messages. Zinsky/Observer, I have given my rant about the US using its economy as a political tool many times here. :) It is one of those weapons that can only be used against a singled out country. When you start using it against multiple targets, not only you will push them into a coalition which is what is now happening, but also you will start waking others up with the "so much power in one nation's hand" thought. The united states has had the philosophy that we will dial it back when necessary. The challenge is that not everything can be dialed back. Once these countries form an alliance, that may not go away anymore even after the economic sanctions go away because now they have the big economy in China to benefit from. So, for short-term and special interest group's United States has sold the long term interests of its nation and with it its long-term prosperity.

Americans have been at this for decades and no progress to show for. Just watch the Miami games with Messi in it. I bet you that you wont be able to stand even the highlights. Comments: Farid, I’m not sure but based on various articles, most countries, even the friendly ones are looking for another alternative to $ and US banking system. Most are concerned about possible future pressure by US. I know some will be mad at me for saying this but America has pushed too much and used its banking system far too many times and acted like a bully with every country they disagreed with. That is too much power in the hands of one nation. |
