Comments: Talking about snow, we are expecting about 2 feet of snow Sunday afternoon through Monday afternoon. Massive storm with subzero temperatures will make it fun! It’s been a very cold winter so far and it seems it will continue through the rest of the winter! Gas and electricity bills are skyrocketing.

Comments: Faramarz you focus too much on RP. He is really not the person who is going to make any changes. He is soft, he has western liberal views, and not a strong leader. People will eventually find someone much stronger. At the same time though we should not ask people what name to chant and what name not to chant. Even if they chant Rouhani and Zarif it is totally ok in my opinion. It is their revolution. Let them say whatever they want for now. RP name is chanted simply because of what iran was before this hateful regime. It was very different. My understanding is his name is being chanted as a symbol that we want to go back to pre Islamic regime where brutality to this level did not exist. Nobody is forcing RP on people. Not USA, not Europe and not even Israel. EU parliament just rejected him speaking there. As I said you need a Reza Khan for future of Iran.
Comments: lol n the people in Iran r absolutely right. What I can tell you about the rumor that you posted is that Etelaat has been interviewing a number of internal dissidents or critics such as Hatam Ghaderi and those type if progressives. What it means or how it affects things no idea. 🤷🏻♂️
Comments: Here is the report and KAveh Madani is the a well spoken hamvatan who led the research for UN. https://theworld.org/segments/2026/01/22/new-research-finds-the-world-in-a-state-of-water-bankruptcy
Comments: By the way, I heard a report on npr by a hamvatan who was reporting on behalf of some international organization (may be UN). He was in charge of investigating depletion of water resources around the globe. He was using the term "Water bankrupt" countries. He did mention Tehran's situation, a bunch of other middle eastern countries, and even some regions in the USA (e.g. colorado river basin). Very interesting but scary report. He did mention the water consumption of data centers and how they are built in rural areas because land is cheap but never consider water needs. This is very true. There is one planned here in San Diego's Imperial County exactly for the reason of cheap land (1 million acres needed!!!). But Imperial County is mostly desert area. Unclear where they are going to get their water from. Because of these things, there is an estimate that our water bills will go up by 40% in the next couple of years. I see the next set of wars being over water.
Comments: lol that is one hell of a change! Hope this means some replenishment of the water resources.
Comments: A very crucial game between PER and SEP today. PER won thanks to their Uzbek forwards who scored both goals. They are now on top of the table thanks to this head-to-head win since both teams have identical records and GD. The interesting part of the game was the complete change of the pitch from the first to second half. It started snowing in Tehran at halftime and the 2nd half was played on a snow covered field, it reminds me of the frozen tundra of the Green Bay Packers ![]()
Comments: LMAO @ lol
Comments: I hear you guys. I think this is true for everyone. If you guys recall, we used to have a sports only policy, a long time ago. We have let go of that because almost everyone here wishes to talk and sort of let out some steam about the social and political issues. I am very proud to say that we have been able to do that here without jumping at each other's throats. As you guys have seen, we have differing opinions and believes. I do report some results every once in a while and I have seen others do that too. I also used to wake up in all hours to watch Perspolis-Esteghlal games. No more. I also, mostly post political stuff. I personally do more of that about the USA then Iran. This is mostly because I live here and I feel that I should have a say, even though I don't. So, I think we are all on the same page here.
Comments: I totally agree with both of you. I don’t expect them to boycott the games but as a fan, I have lost all interest in the games.
Comments: Faramarz khAn, yes, it is very easy to be thousands of miles away and as the old saying goes tell them to "Lengesh Kon". Honestly, I do not have the answers, and I am hurting for the people of Iran. My point though, was for example, in a normal situation, I would have been up at 2:30am in front of TV to watch Perpolis v Sepahan live today. The only football internet magazine that is working now is Varzesh3. I wasn't even willing to open the article on the game. Frankly, I didn't even care. I cannot imagine, how it is for the people in Iran, when the IPL is going on as if nothing has happened.

Comments: Javid it is easy to sit thousands of miles away and hurl expectations at them. The other thing is what shahollahis refuse to accept (I am not saying that you are one): It is not black and white. It is not like you either have people who demonstrate and risk their lives or they are government agents. There is a huge (99.99%) in between who are not demonstrating but are also not government agents. Most football managers belong to this group. Because they are in the spotlight, they have to do what they are told.
Comments: lol, Reza, and Maghsoud: This is very interesting. What Maghsoud posted from BBC might be related to this. lol what I am wondering is why involve RPG? He is hichkAreh and just takes orders and executes them very poorly. So, why negotiate with him? I can think of two bizzare possibilities: 1. RPG is the go-between guy relaying messages! But boy what a poor choice! 2. The negotiations are about RPG being part of or endorsing Rohani's government which would be a really funny and even more bizarre scenario. But hey when the marching orders come, you've got to do it! Is there a sense of what the negotiations were about?
Comments: You know friends, we are part of this group of Football junkies that have followed Iran Football from the Zal years till now. I was telling my friend yesterday, so many years and atrocities that we have seen, but when Perspolis is playing, I cannot sleep and NOT watch it live. This is an addiction. The events of the past month have finally done it for me. My addiction to Iran football and Perspolis is finally over. I simply cannot believe that they are playing as if nothing has happened. I don't care if the stadium is empty, but don't we have one manager with balls to say, we will not play? I am not talking about the players that have no choice, are all the managers of the teams, the coaches, etc.... are part of this government?? How strong is Jomhoori EslAmi??? It took 62 years to finally be rid of football addiction. ![]()

Israel Channel 14 reports that former Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif secretly met multiple times with Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi during Iran’s recent protests and later briefed Iran’s former President Hassan Rouhani on the encounters.

Comments: A deal is being negotiated between the West and the East on the future of Iran. It seems that this demonstrates are being used to leverage one side by using people as pawns. People are desperate, angry and frustrated with the regime, the economy and all the rest. All sides are working together to come up with a solution that would benefit their own interests. Reza doesn’t seem to be the chosen one. They are still working on the next leadership. He/she has to be semi popular among people but also fully committed to the powers. They are looking for a regime similar to Saudi or UAE. Not a democracy but one that is stable and follows orders. It could be weeks, months or years before things fall into place. In the meantime, people are being abused by everyone. Regime will kill, torture and imprison them while the rest of the world pretends to care but not do anything other than talk and promise! |
