US Navy is moving assets to Persian Golf. What are their intentions remains a mystery? Is it show of force or operational? Yet to be determined

my observation about Iran n the Diaspora like MEK or Javid Shah guys.

1) they certainly dominate the Soc Media but are not real representatives of Iranians

2) Most inside are anti-regime but not Pro Shah or MEK, this is why their efforts mostly fizzles.

3) the Diaspora, either purposefully or out of pure ignorance, always pre announce the demise of Islamic Republic and start bickering about how or who should be in charge.

3) IR knows that and allows them a certain degree of freedom to operate, they are the “Useful Idiots” going after each other and name calling.

4) None of them has ever been transparent with their intentions or presented anything similar to a plan of action

Faramarz i think this is what bothers me the most:

"the avalanche present these people as the majority, completely wiping out the real majority in Iran (most of whom are young and never lived in that era), and wiping out their opinion in the process."

I’m sorry to say that Iran, just like 90% of the world, is not in the position to pick a leader or choose their fate independently. This is the reality and it’s been the case for a very long time. Persia used to be a super power and even during their time the other countries didn’t have a say on their fate.
Even the rest of the 10% countries are not really letting their citizens to decide fully. They do a good job pretending that people vote freely and pick their leaders. They don’t.
Best we can hope for is that Iran becomes a country that is accepted by the rest of the world as a reliable and stable country.
There is no such thing as independence in today’s world. No country is independent. They all need each other and the stronger they are (financially and militarily), the better deals they can make.

lol I had to go back to see what I posted about RPG yesterday since most of my posts are about USA and its global impact. :) I only had one post and so this must be the one I think you are responding to:

"lol what I am wondering is why involve RPG? He is hichkAreh and just takes orders and executes them very poorly. So, why negotiate with him? I can think of two bizzare possibilities:

So, yes and no. I do focus on RPG because he is incompetent and is being hurled forward as the "leader" of the movement by foreign governments!!! Some leader. We have seen this story repeated in the past 150 years many times. Even Reza Shah was selected by the English to stop a similar move by the russians. He turned out to be good. Then there was his son who was a complete puppet for some 15-20 years until he slowly woke up. But then in addition to becoming a patriot, he also became a dictator. Then the cycle repeated in '79.

IMO it is critical that we stop that cycle. People in Iran, not even us here, need to chose their own leader without foreign influence. The leader needs to be a patriot and looking after interests of his people from day 1.

Here is some, IMO, subtle but very dangerous thinking:

  1. He is really not the person who is going to make any changes.
  2. People will eventually find someone much stronger.
  3. we should not ask people what name to chant and what name not to chant
  4. Even if they chant Rouhani and Zarif it is totally ok
  5. RP name is chanted simply because of what iran was before this hateful regime.
  6. My understanding is his name is being chanted as a symbol that we want to go back to pre Islamic regime where brutality to this level did not exist.
  7. Nobody is forcing RP on people. Not USA, not Europe and not even Israel.

I remember hearing talk exactly like this in '79. And look where we are. I know we all mean well, but I disagree with everyone of these statements my friend. Here is why:

  1. He is really not the person who is going to make any changes.

How do you know? Just because someone on social media said so? If the CIA, Mosad, and MI6 say he is, I say his chances are pretty good. Regardless of whether he is ready, has the right personality, or not. All irrelevant.

2. People will eventually find someone much stronger.

What gives you this assurance? With the exception of mashrutiat, and the brief period of Mosadegh, we have failed every time. Precedence disagrees with you.

3. we should not ask people what name to chant and what name not to chant

This is very naive. People are being told what name to chant and not to chant all day every day by foreign elements. Should we give them a free run? I think I also have a right to express my opinion and this is it.

4. Even if they chant Rouhani and Zarif it is totally ok

I am not saying whether Rouhani or Zarif are good or bad but this is exactly what people said in '79. See how it turned out. Enough said.

5. RP name is chanted simply because of what iran was before this hateful regime.

Only partially, and only by a small fraction. Most others are following the social media avalanche. The biggest problem: the avalanche present these people as the majority, completely wiping out the real majority in Iran (most of whom are young and never lived in that era), and wiping out their opinion in the process. This is how you make a minority rule.

6. My understanding is his name is being chanted as a symbol that we want to go back to pre Islamic regime where brutality to this level did not exist.

It is crazy talk to say any nation should go back to 50 years ago under any condition. It is not doable. What is even crazier is that we put this in the mouth of the majority who never lived in that era! Go figure!

7. Nobody is forcing RP on people. Not USA, not Europe and not even Israel.

[smile][smile][smile] I am sorry, I do not have a response to this.
