Comments: So, the Qatari MFer put a $400M bill on our hands for upgrading the donated jet and still wasn't good enough. The expense continues as the jet is sitting in England getting inspected. Oh by the way, do you guys not find it odd that the President's jet is being inspected for safety by a foreign government, however an ally?

Comments: doktor I am glad you are coming around as it relates to GN. He did a good job with the players he had in hand. He got the boys very motivated, proof is that we came back 3 times from a goal down and didn't lose. So we did pretty good in attacking phase. Defending was average, we blanked BEL which no other team could. I think our main problem was not having solid DMs like we used it when CQ was in charge, Nekonam, Andranik, even an aging Omid Ebrahimi could have been useful

The new jet, a present from the U.S. ally that the administration spent $400 million on to retrofit and upgrade, entered service last week. But Trump used an older model Air Force One jet to leave a NATO summit in Turkey and later referenced threats against him made by Iran. The subpoenas seek to force the reporters to testify before a federal grand jury in Manhattan next week, the Times said, adding that federal agents delivered some subpoenas to the reporters at their homes. They were issued after FBI Director Kash Patel and other Justice Department officials met at the White House on Friday to talk about the matter, according to a person familiar with the discussions who was not authorized to discuss the issue publicly and spoke on the condition of anonymity. The journalists subpoenaed included Julian E. Barnes, Eric Lipton, Tyler Pager and Eric Schmitt, the Times reported.
Comments: Comparing with the past is challenging and I feel torn. From the point's side, CQ's team got four points and so I could argue that team did better. They also played very organized. From the style side, many do not like parking the bus. So, may be this team was better. I do not know.!
Comments: I can only compare how TM did to how I expected them to do. Compared to my expectations, I am happy to say that they did much better than I thought. This became especially true after I saw how strong the two teams that came out of our group were. One might argue that those two teams were not hitting on all cylinders yet. This may be true but still they did better than I was expecting them. I was only expecting 1 point from the three games, or optimistically, three points only from the first game. I much prefer this type of 3 points. So, even then they did better than I was expecting. This creates a dilemma for me. Why did they do so much better? 1) better than expected training, 2) better than expected friendlies, 3) better than expected recruitment, 4) better than expected coaching, 5) better than expected motivation among the players, 6) better than expected team management (including management on the field), ... I can dismiss all but #4, #5, and partially #6. I think #5 is definitely true given all the interviews we have seen from behind the scene and the injustice that USA/FIFA put them through. #6 might be partially true in terms of on the field team management. I think Taremi took the leadership of this team and delivered. His speech about just run that many (especially shahollahis) are making fun of was one of the most motivating speeches I have see in several world cups or ever. #4 is something that most bothers me, especially if I find out that Ghandali has done a better job of coaching/managing. Many unpleasant consequences will follow: a) I have to pay some respect to Ghandali, 2) stop calling him that, and 3) have to start agreeing with lol. On the bright side, I can champion vatani coaches and call for an end of foreign coach hiring trend. In aggregate though this would be very bad for me, especially having to give up the name Grouhban Ghandali. I love that name. 
Comments: The 2027 AFC Asian Cup will be the 19th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Asia organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The tournament will involve 24 national teams after the expansion in 2019. It will be held in Saudi Arabia from 7 January to 5 February 2027.
Comments: So many options on how TM did in this WC and how it was compared to the previous ones. I don’t think we can compare them to previous ones for obvious reasons. Most of us expected 3 points and we got 3 points. We assumed it will come from our 1st game but it was spread out by 3 games. I think the players did as well as expected. GN did well, considering but player selection before the games and during games was not ideal. The German born player and few others who came here and didn’t play at all was strange. GN did what he does most of the time. Play conservative football even when a risk was needed. It’s done and over with. I don’t believe we will see anything different in few months playing in Asian games. Iran has a handful of youngsters who should be playing now but the fear of losing to Japanese, Koreans and the rest will stop the coach to take the risk.
Comments: Faramarz, You can try but I’m really good/bad at this in this WC. I did much better the last WC. Let’s blame the VAR! Couple of my predictions were spot on until VAR screwed them up…
Comments: Shahryar that video you posted also was great. They do some accounting for the number of people showing up in various cities. They hypothesize that US actually started this latest tit for tad to interrupt the burial processions!
Comments: Rahim, Shahryar, I saw that interview with Dr. Marandi. I always asked myself why someone does not respond in this way to these MFing biased reporters and channels. I thoroughly enjoyed him not falling into the rhetoric and lies that she insisted on pushing. He stayed true to the reality and the truth and pushed back not on what she was saying but the premises that her statements were founded. This was thoroughly enjoyable. Comments: So great and heart warming. For years I have been trying to help in my own ways. Usually through the Child Foundation that Gorbi introduced me to a long time ago. But I am always looking for new ways to help. Medical care and education in rural areas are my weak spots. I would love to help. I am going to follow up with them.

I believe also that he did some schooling in the States earlier in his life which makes it easier for him to tear apart Western "so-called" journalists, those who just mimic their governments' propaganda. Comments: Faramarz, That is true. I didn’t ask nor did they tell me if they went and was it forced on them. I suppose most of my family would not admit to going even if they were asked to go and did go. The only thing I can say is that most of my family, my age group, are retired and possibly not in the list to be harassed. On the other hand, the regime could withhold their retirement benefits if they wanted! I truly don’t know what I would do myself. If asked or threatened, I probably would go as well. |
