Agha Faramarz, I would say that the news about the conflict was subdued. The usual support for Palestinian and the rhetoric against Israel was there but not as much as I was expecting. There is also nothing about the potential of Iran or the US getting involved in the news at all.

As for the demonstrations, I did not see any, if there were some. The general unhappiness and economic hardship is still there and so the potential is there, may be even more than before the protests started. When a "good" leader emerges, all this needs is an ignition.

Maghsoud, I have to admit that I know very little about Singapour and have learned more from this video than all my previous knowledge combined. But some interesting observations just from the video, if his account of the governance in the country is accurate:

His statement that western democracy is for the weak mind is very interesting to me because even here in the west, nothing that matters (businesses, etc.) runs on democracy. His form of government seems to be in direct contrast to how western governments are built as well as in direct contrast to the religious idea of governing where it says that the leaders should be poor.

These are real interesting ideas. This was my initial observation, but have to educate myself more about the country.

Superpowers interfering with regional politics, creating wars for their pockets. Splitting one country into several fake ones without any real identity, put power hungry people in charge of them so they can fight each other.

Does any of this seem normal?

Beautiful Hamvatan mamnoon.

I think there was a mention of a show called the Silk Road on Amazon which goes through a Silk Road country in each episode. In all the countries above Iran, even the ones like Uzbekistan, there was quite a bit of pride in their Persian heritage. This is the aspect of the culture in the region that everyone tries to subdue, from local governments to superpowers. And, Iran is doing nothing about promoting it.  But there is quite a bit of pride among people of these countries to be associated with Iran. In a normal world, Iran would be in a tight economic union with these countries like Europe has been.

Excellent win by SEP today in Uzbekistan. They played good football and won which is important. Ramin Rezaian has become an excellent player ever since last year before the WC. He was the MVP of the match.
I also like to mention that in the 4-0 win over QAT he was the catalyst that made it possible. As soon as he started taking the freekicks and corners instead of the ineffective Ghoddos Iran started scoring. Right now I rate him as obe of the most vital players for TM along with Taremi, Azmoun and  Bayranvand.

PER plays EST(the Tajik version) tomorrow at 9AM PST [biggrin]

The Defense Department ratcheted up its rhetoric against Iran on Monday, saying it will hold Tehran ultimately responsible for a spate of recent drone and rocket attacks on American troops in the Middle East.
While the Pentagon does not have information that the government of Iran “explicitly ordered” the attacks on U.S. forces in the past week, the groups responsible for the incidents are backed by Tehran, DOD spokesperson Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder told reporters on Monday.

Can’t be sure who gets paid or just worried about getting fired. The atmosphere these days is very toxic and scary. Having certain opinions, mainly pro Palestine or even pro peace, has become antisemitism and anti American/Israel. Motivations aside, the “you are either with Israel or you are against them” has become the only way. They jumped to “another 911” too quickly, making it impossible to have a discussion.

I think Israel sleepers are a bit different from the rest. I think Maher belongs to the first group where he believes and supports Israel. But this group splits into two subgroups, those who do this openly and aggressively all the time and those who only do this when there is a dire need. I think Maher belongs to the second subgroup. Now whether he is paid to do this or does this voluntarily does not matter that much. It still makes him a sleeper to me.
