Comments: I don’t know if Germany and Nazi ruling party didn’t exist, we would have a country named Israel today. What Hitler did started a movement that was not intended by him but ended up being the opposite of his intentions. It’s like married couples fight over the in-laws and suddenly the in-laws are moved to the neighbor's house without their consent! The best option would have been to take an area in Germany and call it Israel. That would teach them a lesson!
Comments: Kar kare englisiast! That was a phrase used as a joke but in all reality it is partially true. They were the ones who controlled the Middle East, Africa, India and the area around that. When a country thousands of miles away changes the borders, the leaders and move people around, there will be consequences. Most of the Middle East map was drawn by people who had no regard for the culture, race and history. At some point they (and the rest of the winning coalition) decided to move massive groups of people from Europe, Russia and North Africa to settle in Middle East (Israel) and declared the area a new country. Let’s not get too deep about what the region was 1,000 or 5 thousand years ago. Right after defeating Germany, they moved people around and created new boundaries. I don’t think one needs to be a geniuses to make a logical conclusion that this could cause issues down the road.
Comments: Agha Faramarz, I would say that the news about the conflict was subdued. The usual support for Palestinian and the rhetoric against Israel was there but not as much as I was expecting. There is also nothing about the potential of Iran or the US getting involved in the news at all. As for the demonstrations, I did not see any, if there were some. The general unhappiness and economic hardship is still there and so the potential is there, may be even more than before the protests started. When a "good" leader emerges, all this needs is an ignition.
Comments: Maghsoud, I have to admit that I know very little about Singapour and have learned more from this video than all my previous knowledge combined. But some interesting observations just from the video, if his account of the governance in the country is accurate: His statement that western democracy is for the weak mind is very interesting to me because even here in the west, nothing that matters (businesses, etc.) runs on democracy. His form of government seems to be in direct contrast to how western governments are built as well as in direct contrast to the religious idea of governing where it says that the leaders should be poor. These are real interesting ideas. This was my initial observation, but have to educate myself more about the country. |
