Comments: Tens of thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters have gathered in London and across the UK for rallies urging an end to Israel's attacks in Gaza. More than 1,000 Metropolitan Police officers have been deployed across London as thousands demanded an end to the bombing in Gaza. Similar demonstrations took place in many UK cities including Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast. It follows the recent upsurge in conflict between Hamas and Israel. … Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters forced the temporary closure of Grand Central Terminal during the Friday evening rush as they staged a massive sit-in inside the station’s concourse — leading to dozens of arrests. … President Tayyip Erdogan will join on Saturday what is expected to be one of the largest pro-Palestinian rallies since the Israel-Hamas war began, courting his Islamist political base a day ahead of the centenary of Turkey's secular republic. Political analysts said his planned address in Istanbul aimed to reinforce his growing criticism of Israel's bombardment of the Gaza Strip and to overshadow Sunday's celebrations marking Turkey's secular roots.

Comments: Zinsky at our University some time ago, about 10 years ago, after retirement had gotten a hold of the full university mailing list and was sending stuff against democrats to thousands of employees. That was the only thing we had, and even that was not directly pointing out any specific person. I remember everyone thinking how outrageous it was that university system was being used for politics. Other than that I do not remember anything until Trump came in. All norms then broke after that. US became like the Iranian community, discussing politics at every turn. He served to polarize the society and get them to fight each other. Now in my lab we have a strict rule of leaving politics outside. But at the university in general, it is a hot mess. Everyone taking a side and fighting.

Comments: What I want to know is where are the reporters in the battle field. In all other wars CNN had reporters at or near front lines. This is true except when Israel goes to war. They shut out all reporters and kill as many as they want. There is no accountability. and then when some crazy act by Palestinians happen, we wonder what animals. Why did they do it?

Comments: Seems like Israel is going into Gaza. Mass killings are coming even worse than already 7,000 civilians killed. This could bring many other groups into conflict. I’m not a religious person but I’m praying for people who are going to be in the middle of all this. May god help them.

Comments: Faramarz, This has become norm these days. I remember only few years back talking politics was not appropriate. Now, it’s all people do. It’s one thing to have a one and one conversation with someone but we had an experience that was very strange. Few months back we received an email from the CEO telling us that due to some new government policies we have to do things differently. Not getting into details as it’s not important. Email was sent to nearly 50 people in charge of different departments. Nothing weird so far. One guy decided to use this email as an excuse to shit on Biden/democrats. Calling the new rules government overreach and Biden weak. Of course someone else jumped in defending Democrats and attacking republicans. This is using company email and 50 people being Cc-ed. I kept deleting the emails but it would not end. Finally, someone asked HR to intervene and stop the BS.
Comments: I call them 'jew jihadis'. They are brain washed so much that as soon as things get jiggy they pack and go to kill some Palis. And the strange part is the 'native' Israelis use these people as cannon fodder and send them immediately to the most dangerous parts to 'fight' and many of them get killed on the first week they join the war! Here in LA many young Iranians are under tremendous pressure by their Jewish friends to 'like' their pro-Isreal posts on social media and if they don't they get mad at them, they want 'eshgh-e-zooraki' LOL!!!!!
Comments: I experience this exact thing in my lab with people taking sides and getting into it. Especially that one person heard of someone who went to Israel and died there. Emotions are high.

Comments: "I’m not comparing myself to her, just saying 🤫😎 " :) :) Zinsky jan mamnoon. Learned a ton. Definitely did not know she was from ZanjAn. Also Maghsoud mamnoon for pointing out Zinsky's post. I do not have instagram and so, it is a bit tricky for me to look, but did so now. Turns out ZanjAn is very productive in all sorts of talent categories. Our own Zinsky is a case in point. His talent is in bumping off dim witted demands for compliance!
