In a Worldwide War of Words, Russia, China and Iran Back Hamas
Officials and researchers say the deluge of online propaganda and disinformation is larger than anything seen before.

And what has all this brought to the Jane n Joe taxpayer? I do not think the answer is "nothing". It is much worse than that because they keep bleeding money like this and promising future tax $$ along with it. So, it is actually worse than nothing. Deeper and deeper debt! Had US spent that money more judiciously by providing services to both sides, forcing them to actually listen to reason not rhetoric, we would not have been here, IMHO.

Shahryar khAn, those numbers are insane given how many years this country has been doing this.

By the way, the war in Gaza is worked out exactly as some had hoped (the oil companies + Military industrial complex). KSA has stopped its gesture to normalize relationships with Israel, so has Qatar n UAE. Meanwhile Iran is now busy supporting its proxies which means less financial might + their money is again under blockade. Oil prices dropping like a bad habit. Every Arab country will be back at US table begging for more weapons

Reza Jan,

You are asking the right questions. The information you  provided regarding the US aid to Israel is under-stated, however.

During the past 15 years (I do not know the figures for prior to that date), the US has been providing two types of financial aids to Israel. The actual figures are not known to public; however they include the following:

1- Direct Aid in form of cash - this totals between 12 to 15 Billion dollars a year; direct cash to do whatever they want to with, with no questions asked. They are primarily to be used for defense purposes and strengthening their hold in power In the region, and provide stability for US interests.

2- Conditional Aid - This is in fact in the form of cash, however it comes with a big condition. The total for this has averaged about 8 Billion dollars a year and the funds are supposed to be used for Israel to purchase US Goods with it. This includes agricultural items, medicine but most importantly weapons from US-owned companies only. In other words, they will have to give this second source of money back to US, in exchange for various goods.

So, the total financial help (at least on paper) to Israel from USA has been between $20B to $25B a year for the past 15 years or so. This is a lot more than more people know about. In addition to the above, there are additional help provided to them, like these days. Whatever financila help they are providing now, is above and beyond the official figures listed above, and fall under emergency measures.

In summary, Israel has US and its Tax Payers by the balls, so to speak.

That is exactly right Zinsky and so unnecessary. This policy is so harmful for the united state's reputation in the world. No matter how much they scream democracy, most of the world still considers the country as the reason racism and apartheid still exists. Over a billion people call it islamophobe on top of it. This is also driving some countries toward closer bonds with China and even Russia. China is the biggest threat this country has faced. All of it just so that a hand full of people can sell weapons and get rich in exchange for the future of this country?

Worse part is that they don’t actually need the money. They are not poor or developing country. They do just fine for themselves. Majority of the $230 Billion is for weapons, spying and hacking software engineers.

every year US gives around $3.5 Billion to Israel, over that last 2 decades it has totalled something like $230 Billion. What exactly has that bought US? Nothing but trouble. Israel is an openly apartheid state that is by very definition is racist. If you are not Jewish, you are not welcome to the Jewish state. How does this even make sense in 21st century? This is like I put up a sign that says white only in my establishment???

Seems like this was an exciting game. Agha zinsky, you have a point about the player attacking the ref. Thaat should have been a red. He grabbed the ref's neck!

I have never read so much BS in an official document. You can poke holes in these things like a swiss cheese. What are they talking about when they say Sepahan failed to take precautionary measures to calm people down during the game? There was no game! [rolleyes]

I contacted an insider in IRIFF(don't ask me who, ok) about the issue and he sent me a scan of the 'verdict'.

According to the report the statue of Sardar Solaymani was the reason for the verdict. They note an article in AFC rules about 'bringing the game into disrepute' and tie to the statue. They also mention 'political banners' and 'political statue'. See the picture below.

The verdict also asks SEP to return all the money('match subsidy' as they call it) they got so far. SO beside the $200k they have to repay whatever meeny they got from AFC for playing in the ACL.

IMO, this is a very harsh, biased and unprecedented verdict that will open a can of worms. Most stadiums in the Persian Gulf display big pictures and banners of the rulers in charge of the country. Also the 'political banner' excuse is totally contrary to FIFA rules since last year they allowed plenty of pro-Ukraine and anti-Russia banners to be displayed by the fans and even on the field by teams.

I understand the SEP is appealing the ruling. Maybe AFC will come back to it's senses and close the can of worms they have opened, otherwise Iranian teams can reciprocate the conduct of the Saudis when they play in Qatar/Saudi/UAE.

Iranian prison authorities have blocked jailed Nobel Peace Prize winner Narges Mohammadi's hospital care after she refused to wear a hijab, relatives say.
Ms Mohammadi, 51, was refused a transfer from Evin prison for treatment for a heart condition, her family said.
"The prison warden [said] sending her without a headscarf was prohibited," they said in a statement.
Mohammadi was awarded the prize in October "for her fight against the oppression of women in Iran".

Austria’s main Jewish leader said Wednesday that a fire was set during the night in the Jewish section of Vienna’s central cemetery and swastikas were sprayed on external walls.
Jewish Community of Vienna President Oskar Deutsch wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the fire burned the entrance lobby to a ceremonial hall but did not cause any injuries. The fire service and police were investigating, he said.
Fire service spokesperson Gerald Schimpf told the Austria Press Agency that the fire appeared to have broken out during the night and had largely extinguished itself by the time firefighters were alerted shortly after 8 a.m.
Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said he condemned “the attack on the Jewish cemetery in the strongest terms.” He wrote on X that “ antisemitism has no place in our society” and added that he hoped the perpetrators would be found quickly.

Today Persepolis was awarded a penalty half way through 2nd half. One of the Sanat naft players almost choked the referee and only got a yellow.
Refs need to get serious about all this BS during the game. I’ve never seen physical attacks on referee go unpunished (yellow card!)!!!

BTW, the SEP ruling is really strange. The Saudi team left the field after warm ups and did not show up while SEP was there along with 50K fans.

I doubt the statue of Sardar Solaymani was the issue, there must have been something else that convinced the AFC observer team to cancel the game, due to security,  and award a 3-0 to the Saudi team. AFC has to come up with a clear answer on this issue. So far they just issued a verdict with no explanation!
