Comments: Scoring Update: Mexico defeated S. Africa with the score of 2 - 0. In the prediction contest, three people correctly predicted the final score and are in 1st place with 6 points (Zinsky, LOL & Perspectives!). I will provide an updated scoring table at the end of each day. I will also write down the scoring methodology for those who may not be familiar with it. It is the same scoring system I have been using for the previous 4 World Cup contests. Congrats to our top scorers after game one, but there are 103 games to go, and there will be many leader changes in the table, if history is any indication.
Comments: Final score 2-0 for Mexico. South Africa was reduced to 9 men. In the end one of Mexican players was also sent off. South Africa was way too nervous. IMO these were two no good teams. Moving on.
Comments: South Africa goalkeeper is their best player. The rest are average at best. Mexico is good but not great!

Comments: This is guaranteed to be less embarrassing opening game than the last WC where Qatar marked the only host opening game where they were clearly outmatched and showed that they do not belong. The evidence of FIFA corruption will come later in this world cup when the games start in USA.
