Also the last incidents is now taught in many top flight schools. The MiGs were in a triangular formation. He hit the one in the middle n the debris from the impact brought down the other two.
Comments: The situation after revolution and war starting was very strange. IRI realized they need the trained soldiers, pilots, generals and the rest but by then, they had killed many, imprison some and in general treated them like shit. My father was one of those who got spared the death sentence or lengthy prison sentence but was fired, stripped from his title and pension. As a general, he was left with nothing. They even tried to take away the house and the car but after lengthy court battles, they left him alone. As soon as war started, he was asked to come back. He had good reason to say no as his health was declining. Couple of his colleagues went back and tried but eventually they had to leave as they were treated badly. A 20 year old Sepahy would order them around and dismissed them with as much disrespect as possible. In all reality, the war would have ended in a year or two with massive losses to Iraq if they would listen to seasoned generals rather than fighting them without military strategy. They just used human waves to repel them. It worked at the end but at much higher human cost than it was necessary.

Also, in one incident, they shot down three iraqi aircrafts with one phoenix missile!!!" Holy crap. Also interesting is that Captain Mazandarani was among the second tier Iranian pilots and 1) was less loyal to shah and so, was brought back after the revolution to fight the war, and 2) was mostly trained in Iran (first phase was in USA) rather than going to the US for training.
Comments: Yes, so, the number that I posted is the injured. They do not report those to the family unless the soldier decides to do that himself. For fatalities, it looks like they are slow rolling the information, even to the families. But the families who will be informed of a single fatality is not what we are talking about. We are talking about the total numbers and when. This accounting can only be released by CENTCOM. So, weather they have informed the families or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is two other levels of communication: 1) accumulative accounting to the congress, and 2) to the public. To the public they have said some ridiculously low number like 17. This is far below reality as we know and trust this administration. There is no credibility there. The big issue is that it looks like the US congress is also complaining about the same thing. So, the first level of communication is also not happening. The fact that United States' own congress is saying the numbers are much higher and the administration should release them to the congress is proof that the fatality number is BS. No credibility to this administration what so ever. When they say two died in an incident, you can bet the numbers are above 10. The last two incidentally were in missile defense which speaks volumes about the hardening plans of these bases.

Comments: How do they hide the casualties? What do they tell the families? Based on some data, Iran has lost over 8,000-10,000 military staff. That is besides the nearly 4,000 civilians killed.
