Comments: Shahryar, this is an insane war Trump is waging. I have never seen such an incredible strategic blunder. Trump has so many pressure points all over the region and the in the USA. All within the striking distance of Iranian weapons, against which USA has no defense. Here is a list of a few: 1. In USA: Stock market. all they have to do is disrupt shipping. Hormuz is actually the smaller one and look what havoc it is causing. Mendeb would destroy global economy, not just USA. Saudi Arabia bombing the Yemenis was the stupidest thing they could have done at this point. 2. Livelihood of the Arab gas stations in the region. I wont call them countries because they are not. Hundreds of desalination plants, oil production facilities, refineries, facilities that produce oil by products like fertilizers. Even if you could defend against those missiles, even if you had enough munition to do so, how are you going to defend nearly one thousand targets in the region now that you know those missiles are accurate. These gas stations are at a great risk of disappearing. This would hugely affect USA's economy. Most of the money for US' AI initiative (as an example) comes from the idiot Arab gas stations. 3. Livelihood of the genocidal state. If shit really hits the fan, Iran will turn to Israel. From the air missiles will rain from Iran, Yemen, and Lebanon while Hezbollah will advance on the ground. In return, what do US/Israel have to hurt IRI that they haven't tried already? Only remaining thing is the civilian infrastructure. This will not bother IRI at all. IMO Trump is insane to continue this.

Comments: I agree. To be honest, I expect this war will continue until end of Trump's term. He is stuck in an impossible task to which Israel put him on. Basically, they sacrificed Trump's presidency to see if they can destroy Iran. Since this is an impossibility, to save face, Trump will drag on the war. In the process they also significantly diminished the status of the United States in the world and will greatly shrink US' economy. This is all okay with Israel. But is hugely consequential for the next generation of the Americans to come. That Nobel Laureate leaving is only the tip of the iceberg. Much worse news is only around the corner. Just wait a few more years.
Comments: The biggest issue for Iran is to secure peace for a long period. Unfortunately, there are no international guarantees that could be enforced. The only way left is to push US from the region. That is a tall order but one that could help lasting peace.

I suspect, they will include Yemen and Gaza in the next version. What I am not sure about is whether IRI will agree to come back to the negotiations again. Trump is burning all the bridges.
