Comments: I'm spoiled by the game last night, I fell sleep in the middle of the boring top 20 clash game between France and Senegal, woke up and it's still 0-0 with an overweight Faghani as the ref
Comments: Sorry for teh late prediction: France 1 - 0 Senegal Iraq 0 - 3 Norway Argentina 3 - 1 Algeria Portugal 1 - 1 COD England 0 - 0 Croatia Ghana 3 - 0 Panama
Comments: My predictions for tomorrow's games ![]() Portugal 3 - 0 COD England 2 - 0 Croatia Ghana 2 - 0 Panama
Comments: Ramin was clearly the best player for Iran and he got the MOM award even though the NZ player had scored 2 goals. The main issue for Iran was in the midfield or lack of it. Both Ezat and Ghodos had bad games in allowing NZ too much time on the ball. On the first goal Chris Wood was allowed to stop the ball do a couple of roopaei and then pass the ball. The starting line up made sense. Moghanlou got the start because of his height and he delivered with his assist on the first goal and his defensive work. Nemati was subpar and I would replace him with Kanani in the next match. Taremi other than his shot that hit the post was selfish with the ball and did not perform as expected. Mohhebi scored and that made up for his mistake on the second goal. Overall after all the team went through to get to this match from no league games in the past 3 months, no real friendly games and the stupid travel plans they managed to show extraordinary resilience and came back twice in a WC match which is not easy task for any team. And NZ is not as bad as I thought. They played their hearts out and this draw will give them hope to play even harder and get points off Egypt in the next game which is what we need. And Asian teams are still undefeated
Comments: As far as the game itself I say this was the most entertaining match so far in the tournament. it was end-to-end action for the entire 90 minutes. The final stats says it all Attempts 17 to 14 for Iran On Target 8 to 4 for NZ Off Target 7 to 3 for Iran Inside the Penalty Area 10-10 tie Outside the Penalty Area 7 to 4 for Iran The crowd totally enjoyed the game and after the match they were telling us with our Iran shirts that this was a great game ![]()
Comments: The attendance was announced as 70,108 people. I say about 5000-7000 were Iranians. But Iran had a lot of support from the neutrals. There were a lot of Mexicans who supported Iran with "olay olay olay olay, Iraaaan....Iraaaan"
Comments: The first quarter we watched the game from the nose bleed section which was not that bad but during the break we walked down and usurped some expensive seats near the midfield circle, the view was fantastic from those seats
Comments: I have finally recovered from attending the the game yesterday. It was an 8 hour shift and then I came home and watched the entire game on TV
Comments: I think Ramin Rezaeian was the best player yesterday. He scored the first goal and assisted the second goal. Strange thing was that most of the game, the team did not pass him the ball. I was telling this to Maghsoud the whole time!

Comments: Welcome to Tehrangeles As my friend posted You know this regime change BS is over since the same accounts who were posting about their white parties, Gym routines, and white chia mochas, were all of sudden posting about Iranian plight and leading a revolution are now back at white parties, Gym pix and $8 Mochas 😜😜😜
Comments: My last post for this morning... I need only inputs from Rashti and Farid, please. Thanks to all. Note: I wish I were there with you guys watching the game together yesterday, although I probably would have had heart attacks after the other side's goals, lol.
Comments: Faramarz, I think the main problem is that he doesn’t know how to play defensive football. During CQ tender, he thought the team to attack and overwhelm the opposition inside our half. It requires coordination, speed and stamina. No opponent’s players should have more than a second or so to pass, dribble or shoot the ball. It’s not easy and requires long practice as a team. Yesterday, NZ players were left alone to THINK! Both goals came from giving them too much time and space. Age is a major factor. Limited or no preparation was obvious. I don’t only blame the coach but he is at least 30% responsible for not seeing it nor adjusting to the situation. NZ #9 was left alone too many times. He would receive the ball unchallenged and had 5-10 seconds to make a decision. I suppose we will play a full defensive game against Belgium with parking the bus in our half and hope for a counter attack.

Comments: Faramarz jan, had a blast yesterday. So great to spend some time together. Very much enjoyed the conversation. Those people upfront pissed me up so much. I wanted to go to them and slap them silly. Such a trashy culture. And their women were there only to take photos of themselves and eat nachos. I swear none of them were there to watch the game. Most arrived half hour after the game had started and spent most of the time with their back to the game taking pictures of themselves! WTF
Comments: By the way, the atmosphere at the stadium was great. Over 70K people showed up. No one (as far as we could tell) booed the players or called them bisharaf like they did in the last world cup. The only thing that I found very objectionable and of poor taste was that a whole lot of shAhollAhis had bought seats right up front and as their sense of entitlement dictated, they didn't give a damn about the rest and constantly stood up to watch the game (even though they were in the front row) blocking the view of five rows behind them. They continued this throughout the game despite everyone's repeated objections. Spectacularly poor culture. |
