Comments: This is totally understandable: "I want to see the end of the war as soon as possible." Everyone, and literally everyone, including people at IRI and in D.C., everyone unanimously wants this war to end very soon. The only exception is YAboo. The big problem in this whole strange war, and why it continues even though both sides want to end it, is the delusional Trump and all his TACOs and then violating it. There is no trust that Trump will hold to his word. So, how do you end a war like this when one side has a rich history of lying within a week. There is no way, until you completely run that lying side out of the picture. This has not been achieved now which means even if a peace treaty is signed today, in two weeks we will have war again and some of these reignitions will be huge bombings and killing of a lot of people in Iran. So, IMO, to spare lives, a peace now with this delusional puppet is to be avoided.
Comments: I’m worried an angry and wounded Trump would go for anything possible to avoid being completely humiliated, including an atomic weapon! That would be the worst possible outcome for Iranian people. U.S. had bad outcomes in the Middle East in recent years but this will be the worst. If somehow they accept the demands, it will give Iran more power than it had for hundreds of years and it will be almost impossible to take it back! Israel is also not ready to be out-powered by Iran. I don’t know the outcome but pushing US and Israel that far is not the best move…

This statement from the national security council is not actually stated to give Trump an off ramp. The timing clearly says that this was released today to play Trump's ego and make it impossible for him to accept. They hope that because of this, Trump's ego will drive him to continue the war. For the reason that I mentioned earlier, it is not at all a good thing for lasting peace for the current conflict to end now. It will boil over again very soon, if it ends now. Trump is going to bend over backwards to YAboo again and again.

It is also so sad to realize that in this beacon of democracy, the system is so screwed up that allows some one who is clearly serving another country and has brought in another country's agents into the highest levels of the US government without any scrutiny. Even the media, including PBS have become accomplices to this and no one is questioning how the beacon of democracy has no free press!

This is so interesting for two reasons: 1. First time in American history the military is looking for a political solution rather than the politicians. 2. This also shows the military's loss of confidence in the political establishment, specifically Trump, to find a way to get out of this losing war.

Comments: According to AP Iran is now demanding: The United States must never threaten Iran again, the statement said, and must permanently end the war with Iran and its armed allies in the region. The U.S. must lift the naval blockade of Iranian ports and withdraw its military from the area. It also must "completely compensate" Iran for war damage, lift sanctions and "unconditionally" release frozen assets. In other words Iran demanding an "unconditional surrender" from the US. |
