Comments: Iranian society has been systematically broken down by decades of moral repression, economic pressure, and sanctions. That is not an accident. Sanctions do little to weaken the regime, but they do weaken society by keeping people exhausted, anxious, and emotionally destabilized. A population in that condition is far easier to pressure, direct, and exploit. That is the context for what we are seeing now. People like to say the younger generation in Iran is smarter and will know what to do. I find that deeply naive. Psychology and social science suggest the opposite: prolonged repression and chronic instability do not produce better judgment. They produce emotional fatigue, distorted incentives, and weakened decision-making. That is precisely why sanctions remain useful, even when everyone knows they do not meaningfully change the regime. The same logic applies to our some hamvatans here. Some people outside iran, in a different way, show the same emotional vulnerability and become susceptible to anyone who offers hope or relief. This is more true for people who have some ground level emotional instability to begin with. In that sense, Shahollahi view strikes me not as serious analysis, but as wishful thinking when they talked about the start of the war and now about continuation of the war. My own view is that this war is going so badly for Israel and the United States that Israel may already be contemplating nuclear escalation. That alone should tell us how dangerous this moment has become.
Comments: Yesterday, the $2 million SAAB Giraffe 1X radar system was destroyed by an Iranian drone on top of the US embassy in Baghdad.
Comments: I saw Larijani in the streets of Tehran at the Qods Day rally yesterday. Will they pay me the $10M if I report it?
Comments: I went back to find this pic that Reza posted. Says it all.
Comments: Hamvatan, totally agree with her. They have gone well beyond the Cuban diaspora. They actually celebrate the death and destruction of the country and its people not the regime. By now we see what we always knew that you cannot bomb a regime out of existence. I know a group of Shahollahis here and the same thing that happened to IFP happened to our group of friends. Basically they started calling anyone who disagreed with them an IRI agent and so, most stay away from them. They even have their own group of social media separated from the larger group. I posted there what if Israel loses nukes. What then? Is that still a reasonable price to get rid of the regime? Their answer was yes. This is shocking to me. How they are willing to sit here and cheer the death of millions there. The thing is that even in a nuclear bombing of Iran, I do not think they will be able to get rid of IRI. They do not care. This is such a shock to me!
Comments: As far as people living in Iran, I can see a sense of regret but not fully there yet. Some are still hoping but most are getting tired of the war. That is the plan for IRI to drag this war as long as possible to get people tired and have US and Israel declare victory and move on for a year or two. Unfortunately for Iranians, IRI can drag this longer than anyone assumed they would. The worst part is that Iran has become a police state worse than before. These days, being outside could kill you either by bombs or by the regime for no reason at all.
Comments: HAMVATAN, Unfortunately, these days Iranians are very divided and some have gone way crazy and have no regard for their country as long as it goes their way after massive death and destruction. Worse part is that they believe it will go their way with the help of US and Israel when both basically just care for Iran to be weak enough so it can’t bother them anymore.
Comments: That's why Trump calls Iranians "scumbags".
Comments: I'm sorry but monarchist Iranians are the worst diaspora by a long distance. Cubans don't come close. I've never seen people cheer for the destruction of their own country, which includes thousand-year-old architecture, as well as the massacre of their own people. Psychopaths. — Lexi Alexander (@LexiAIexander) March 14, 2026">Lexi Alexander I'm sorry but monarchist Iranians are the worst diaspora by a long distance. Cubans don't come close. Comments: News on Bibi leaked out in Paris. He is in the famous Gustave Roussy in Villejuif, France. Macron visited him.
Comments: He was on TV couple of days ago. He has lost a lot of weight but no one knows what is happening with him.
Comments: I think Isreal might use Nukes in the name of defending itself. Against Iran definitely, but also may be even against Lebanon and hoomeh. It is the easiest way to "clean up" the neighborhood. Bibi hasn't been seen in days now. Is he hiding?
