Comments: The war is not ending anytime soon. The Trump administration just sent a new peace proposal to Iran through mediators. Iran rejected the proposal in less than an hour. Tehran has now significantly increased its demands for a peace agreement and for the Strait of Hormuz to be reopened. Iran had previously demanded $300 billion in compensation. That figure has now been increased to $450 billion. Iran is also demanding the release of another $100 billion in frozen Iranian assets. That's $550 billion in total. Tehran is also demanding the complete withdrawal of US troops from the Middle East. Iran has let Trump administration know that it will not enter negotiations until Trump publicly acknowledges Iran's right to control the Strait of Hormuz. A deadly food crisis is slowly developing in multiple countries. Things could get a lot worse in the coming months.

Comments: Something that is relatively new is that some talented kids go to specialty schools that is mainly focused on “المپیاد”! I don’t think we had that back then. My nephew is one of them. He is going to a special private school that has been designed for that type of learning. He seems to be the type to do really well. Unfortunately, he has no real hope for his future. Experimental physics, because of its high cost and demand for high-end equipment is only limited to a hand-full of places in USA, Europe, Japan, Russia, and now China. No third world country ever has gotten an award for experimental physics because of this. If my translation is correct, he must have designed experiments that shed light onto fundamentals of our understanding without these high-end facilities and resources. Comments: I am also not sure that the midterms will change anything. First, I am not sure that the Democrats can take the Senate. Second, assuming that they do, what would that they change? The Akhor for both parties is the same. So, on anything that matters the two parties are practically a singular party. With the exception of a handful of the members, the vast majority are selected by AIPAC.

I do expect good results for Democrats but not big enough to change anything. Trump will do whatever he wants with a small majority for democrats. He will vote anything he doesn’t like and use executive orders to do what he wants. With Supreme Court fully support him, the house and senate can’t stop him anyway. When it comes to the war with Iran, Trump MIGHT use the legislative branch to find a way out, if he is smart. He can slowly walk away from the war and blame them for the failure.
