The failed operation in Isfahan is the main reason for Trump going postal in his latest rants.
The idea in the operation was to setup a beachhead/camp inside Iran and use it for sepcific missions. The main one being the recovery of the 600Kg of enriched uranium. It had nothing to do with rescue of the downed pilot as the location is 200Km from the crash site.
It was in planning for a while and the time table matched Trump's 6 week time limit for ending the
war. The dismissal of some 4 star generals in the military was because they opposed this operation. They told Hegseth this will fail and we don't want to sign off on it.
The idea was to use the isolated airstrip and land their equipment and troops and setup a 5Km safe zone for the mission. But Iran had the airstrip under surveillance and after allowing them to land and get off the planes started shooting at them with small arms from a distance. Trump watching this live immediately ordered the mission to be aborted and send in another C130 to evaccuate the troops and then send in fighters to bomb the remaining equipment.
This is the plan that the French military man heard  about and commented that they should stop using cocaine between meetings!
The result of this failure was Trump totally losing it and going on his swearing and threatening rants which is in progress.

The "yellow dog" as Iranians call Trump is now totally isolated. Both China and Russia vetoed the Security Council resolution about opening Hormuz. Most EU allies are denying him usage of their bases to attack the "animals" in Iran back to "stone age".

The U.S. fighter jet was downed in Iran by a shoulder-fired missile

Iran’s military may be badly damaged by the U.S. and Israel’s campaign. But that damage has exposed a more enduring threat: asymmetric warfare, in which individuals or small groups of militants can pose threats strategic to the American military.

On the nukes, no matter how I calculate it, I reach the same conclusion. They cannot handle IRI. Totally misjudged its capabilities, and in his arrogance, he started this shit. Now they cannot accept Iran's terms and so, the only thing left is the nukes. The sad part is that even after that IRI will be standing and the west along with Israel will be in complete upheaval. [mad] In my opinion, if that happens, Israel's future existence and US' economic future will be under serious question.

Yes, I have seen it. Zinsky posted a summary of it about wiping out a civilization. I am now certain that he has no idea what is a genocide and what the international laws are.

He is completely unhinged. He's gotten himself into a corner bound by his own promises and big mouth. Now, neither Israel, nor Iran, is letting him off the hook.

President Trump threatened to wipe out a “whole civilization,” and the United States hit military targets on Iran’s main oil export hub, as the president ramps up pressure on Tehran to fully open the Strait of Hormuz or potentially face a wave of strikes on critical infrastructure in the coming hours.
Mr. Trump issued the grave warning in a post on social media on Tuesday as a new round of attacks was launched across the Middle East. The U.S. attacked Kharg Island, the export hub, while Israel and Iran traded fresh attacks and Israel’s military warned Iranians to avoid traveling by train. The increasingly incendiary threats and the intense fighting reinforced the fragile state of diplomacy, with no public signs of a diplomatic breakthrough to end the war.

As most of here expected, what people wanted/needed has nothing to do with what US/Israel are after. People were used and abused to give the west the excuse to go after their agenda.
This will get uglier for the people. I’m not sure what % of people realizing it now but the pain is real and getting worse and the rewards will not come anytime soon.

A way for Trump to get out of this mess that he has created is to call in sick. :) Hospitalize himself for some illness. He has many. Then instruct Vance to take over and pull the troops back. A month later come back and say that he would not have done it. :) Trump lies all the time. So, this should not be a big stretch for him. Anything else is surely going to destroy both countries and the world economy along with his legacy.

This is a crucial point on Iran by Chas Freeman, the former US Assistant Secretary of Defense and, relevant to the topic, former US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia (also, incidentally, one of the very rare former senior US officials who's a genuinely thoughtful diplomat as opposed to a sociopathic neocon).

What Freeman explains is that Iran's control of Hormuz, which Trump implicitly admitted is beyond the US's ability to contest (by saying in his speech it's not his problem to solve, that "others" should deal with it), will necessarily lead to a reshaping of the regional order in Iran's favor.

As Freeman says, "the Gulf Arabs have no alternative but to negotiate with Iran because they cannot survive indefinitely with the Strait of Hormuz closed to their exports." Meanwhile, countries like China, India, Japan, and Turkey have already worked out transit agreements with Tehran - de-facto recognizing Iranian authority over the strait.

In effect, Iranian control of Hormuz is now a fait accompli: they control the valve on the single largest concentration of hydrocarbon exports on earth. This is a long-term reality with immense implications.

In fact it's such a massive long-term win for Iran that the way the war may ironically be remembered by history is Trump giving Tehran the ideal casus belli to seize control of Hormuz - something the world would have never accepted had they done it unprovoked.

Iran responded today by hitting KSA’s largest petrochemical production facility.

Used simply 2 ballistic missiles not a single THAAD or anti missile was even fired. Saudis are the worst type of sycophants

u can see the video at the link

"After its petrochemical hub was attacked by the US and Israel, Iran responded by striking the Saudi industrial hub. Jubail is Saudi Arabia’s main industrial hub and operates with nearly 300 active industries. It produces about 7% of all petrochemicals in the world. SATORP and SASREF together refine 770,000 barrels per day. In addition, there are large-scale dedicated power stations and desalination plants. We are talking about a giant complex of fertilizers, steel, aluminum, and chemical products that suffered a violent Iranian attack today in retaliation for the strike on its own petrochemical complex. All of this is connected to the King Fahd Industrial Port, the main industrial port of the complex, with 34 berths and a confirmed annual capacity of 70 million tons. The attacks today on Iran and the Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia will directly impact global inflation."
