Comments: According to the Trump, Iran agreed not to have any nuclear weapons!!! Did they ever said they will? Good reason to end the war!
Comments: I suppose US could ask not to be charged a toll but I don’t see how they can ask for others who are apparently willing to pay for a safe passage to stop paying the toll. This will not stop by force. It could for a short while but US won’t be able to block the traffic forever! Based on an analysis, Iran would become one of the most wealthy countries in the region. The toll revenue could be as high as oil sales for Iran. Unfortunately for the population, the money won’t translate to better life for them as it will be divided between the top leaders of the country and wasted on “other” priorities. In the meantime, the $$$ keeps dropping in Iran and Rial gaining value in the neighborhood. The proposal by Iran is to accept Iranian Rial, bitcoin or Chinese yuan for the toll. There are rumors that the neighboring countries are slowly but surely buying Rial that had almost zero value just a month ago.
Comments: Most Iranians do not realize that this is a very important moment in Iran's recent history. The deals negotiated now can last for a long time well beyond IRI - possibly for ever. For example serenity over Strait of Hormuz and its toll system, once established, can last a long time. These have legal basis in international law. It is just that lame Iranian governments in the past have not enforced them. Even IRI did not enforce them until this Trumpian f up. So, I hope that Iran sticks to its guns and insist on these items in the agreement. I hope that they do not capitulate in favor of survival. Time will tell. I do not think we will ever get another chance at these issues.
Comments: Pope Leo decries world ruled by 'tyrants' after Trump attacks Pope Leo blasted leaders who spend billions on wars and said the world was “being ravaged by a handful of tyrants“, in unusually forceful remarks in Cameroon on Thursday after US president Donald Trump attacked him again on social media. Leo, the first US pope, also decried leaders who used religious language to justify wars and urged a “decisive change of course” in a meeting in the biggest city in Cameroon’s English-speaking regions, where a simmering conflict going back nearly a decade has left thousands dead. On Tuesday, JD Vance capped several days of insults by insinuating the pontiff was not being truthful in matters of theology, and did not understand the concept of war. “How can you say that God is never on the side of those who wield the sword?” the vice-president said during a Turning Point USA event at the University of Georgia, at which he was heckled by anti-war protesters. “Was God on the side of the Americans who liberated Holocaust camps? It’s very, very important for the pope to be careful when he talks about matters of theology … you’ve got to make sure it’s anchored in the truth.”

Comments: Dear Italy, Your PM just defended Pope and lost an ally in Washington — the Commander in Grief, yet the most 'powerfool'man on earth. We'd like to apply for the vacancy. Our qualifications: 7,000 years of civilization, a shared love of poetry, architecture, and food that takes longer to prepare than Trump's attention span. The only thing Iran and Italy have ever fought over is who invented ice cream. Faloodeh came first. Gelato came louder. We've been in a 'cold' war over this for 2,000 years.

Comments: It’s hard to see a better deal for US after so many years of sanctions, assassinations and wars! Key Terms of the 2015 Deal Enrichment Limits: Iran agreed to reduce its stockpile of enriched uranium by 98% (to 300 kg) and keep enrichment levels at 3.67% for 15 years, far below the 90% needed for weapons-grade material. Centrifuge Reduction: Iran reduced its installed centrifuges by two-thirds, limiting them to 6,104 for a decade. Arak Reactor Redesign: Iran agreed to redesign its heavy-water reactor at Arak to prevent the production of weapons-grade plutonium. Monitoring and Access: The IAEA was granted unprecedented, permanent, and continuous monitoring of Iran’s declared nuclear sites, including the ability to inspect suspicious sites. Sanctions Relief: In exchange, the U.S., EU, and UN lifted nuclear-related sanctions, freeing up billions of dollars in frozen assets, though U.S. sanctions for non-nuclear issues (missiles, human rights) remained.
