Comments: Happy Chaharshanbehsouri. Thank you Zinsky jAn for reminding us of this. I nearlly forgot. ![]()
Comments: https://youtu.be/Q3Hy-qVJB6A I did not know that China controls 98% of Gallium on the planet. WTF has US been asleep? How could they allow this? Also looks like Trump's visit to China is canceled because of the war.
Comments: Happy 4 shambe soori to all Iranians around the world.

Comments: Talked to Iran today. Nothing good to report. The constant bombings are making everyone very nervous and anxious. People can barely leave the house. Few family members who have a place or family outside Tehran are leaving. The ones who don’t have no choice. Few still support the war hoping it brings change. The rest are changing their mind. They are tired, sad and angry. They are losing hope fast while being bombarded.
Comments: Trump Ditches Appeal for Help in Iran War, Slamming Allies
Comments: Reza, don't kid yourself. There will not be a true winner. What you do not want is already happening. Gaza 2.0 is here. The only question is whether iri survives. I do not see any way for iri to go away. And Israel will not let Trump get off on a ramp. So. This war will continue for a long time.
Comments: One of the most interesting things that he said was that whitkof and Kushner actually did not have the basic knowledge to be involved in negotiations. He said that because they did not understand the difference between enrichment and a reactor , they actually started developing even more mistrust when the Iranians said that they r not enriching uranium using the Tehran reactor. This is so sad and comical at the same time!
Comments: Parsi sure is getting a lot of exposure in the media, may be the most among Iranians. He was on NPR just now discussing the current situation with three others for more than half an hour. That is a lot of time.
Comments: By the way, he is very calm, collective, and eloquent. And he puts forward his thoughts and arguments masterfully.
Comments: This isn’t the only case. In the past he has been criticizing Iran but very softly, so he doesn’t come across overtly biased. But avoids pointing out the atrocities and crimes of this regime.
Comments: This is not looking like a small campaign and the true winner will be determined after all the dust is settled. My only worry is that I don’t want to see Tehran become Gaza 2.0 while IR continues to survive
Comments: I agree with all his three points. Israel will continue Kill off the off ramp. With Mojtaba's direct connection with IRGC, this assassination does nothing to command and control as far as the war is concerned. But it will kill off the diplomatic side of IRI. Israel is systematically dressing IRI to be a rouge military government. This will pave the way for total destruction of Iran. Trump is now officially trapped by Yaboo. His back paddling and trying to explain decisions that he did not make writes the jokes by itself.
Comments: Farhad aziz, My impression was the same until recently. Now, I do not know what to believe. This whole campaign of promoting RPG, war against Iran, and more all coming from Israel through the hands of Shahollahis, I now do not know what to believe. The whole NIAC being a front for IRI is highly dubious to me now. For all I know, this too may have been an Israeli smear campaign simply because what he says is not supporting RPG.
Comments: Very strong letter by Kent. Bravo the bravery and honesty.
Comments: More and more people are leaving Tehran if they have a place to go. That is probably about a million people. The rest of 10-12 million living or working in Tehran are stuck with daily bombing and fear and anxiety. I’m not sure where we go from here.
Comments: As you may know, Trita Parsi is one of the leaders of NIAC (National Iranian American Council). Of course NIAC has long been recognized as, or at least been accused of, having direct ties with Iranian regime for the purpose of influencing the American Media in favor of Iran. In many of his speeches and interviews his underlying messages of loosely defending the Iranian government comes through. Having said all that and putting aside his true intentions, there are some good points here and he makes a good argument for his case. My humble two Cents. Why did Israel target Ali Larijani, and what are the implications if it is confirmed that he was killed? I see three potential motivations behind the assassination attempt: 1. Israel is trying to literally kill off Trump's off ramps: Larijani was not only a key figure within the regime who had emerged as the chief consensus builder, but alto kill off Trump's off ramps literallys someone who favored talks with the US and who could build consensus within the system for an Iranian off ramp at some point. He also favored de-escalation with the GCC states and supported Pezeshkian's message on that point (though not the apology). There had been some efforts by Larijani to speak directly with senior Trump officials in December, for instance, to prevent the war. The Israelis want the war to continue to degrade Iran's military capabilities further to shift the balance in the region in Israel's favor for years to come. They have fought for more than two decades to get the US to go to full war with Iran, and having finally achieved that goal, they do not want Trump to cut the war short. Without figures like Larijani in the Iranian system, Trump's pathways to ending the war just got narrower. 2. The US/Israeli strategy may be shifting back to regime decapitation. The reason for this is that it's becoming increasingly clear that reopening the Straits of Hormuz militarily is simply too risky, and there is no international coalition willing to support Trump. But the Straits must be reopened from Trump's perspective because of the impact on energy markets, which eventually will impact gas and food prices in the US, and push Trump's own base to turn against this war. But if he cannot open it militarily, then the original idea of regime implosion may prove another path. As such, the killing of Larijani may have been seen as a second bite at the apple. The first bite, the assassination of Khamenei, did not yield results. But a few more assassinations of key figures may, the thinking would go. 3. Opportunity: The assassination may have also simply occurred because the opportunity presented itself, rather than having been motivated by either a shift in strategy or a sabotage effort by the Israelis to kill off Trump's off-ramps. Either way, while this undoubtedly is a significant tactical blow to the Islamic Republic, it is difficult to envision it considerably impacting Tehran's war execution. Plans for these eventualities had already been established during the June war. Moreover, when relatively moderate voices have been killed by Israel, they have more often than not been replaced by a younger generation of more hawkish voices who opposed Iran's policy of "strategic patience", who opposed the June ceasefire, and who currently oppose any de-escalation or ceasefire. Whether this was Israel's intent or not, the most likely outcome, nevertheless, is the destruction of potential off-ramps for Trump.
Comments: If nothing else, some are waking up and say what they have been thinking for so long. I’m not sure if this will change anything in the future but at least it is being discussed. Israel is the main problem in Middle East. Their ambitions and the unconditional support from US has caused so many wars, so much destruction and suffering. If/when U.S. stop supporting them unconditionally, there might be a chance for peace. I don’t see it in my lifetime but we can always hope…
