Comments: Faramarz, you are saying the same thing when you say: The US is run for the interests of a few and those few definitely are not looking at the world patriotically. They look after their own pockets. So, they will go where the money goes. Russia and China are not any different. You really think Russia and China are run by people who look at their world patriotically? Who runs China? Who runs Russia? It is not Xi and it is not Putin. Just like it is not Biden for US. None of these people are patriotic and doing things for the benefit of their country. Look how rich China is and how poor the people are. China and Russia playing the game right just like US does. They make it a China thing or Russia thing just like Biden, Trump, Bush, and Obama make it a US thing. Exactly the way it is portrayed in the media. And that is what I am trying to say that at the end the benefit has nothing to do with countries and patriotism but individuals. The special interest exists in the US in China and in Russia. It is even worse in Russia and China. Putin and Xi playing the same game. These special interests behind the scene are not necessarily white Americans, they could be Russian, they could be Chinese, they could be Hungarian or Japanese. The ethnicity of these people does not really matter. Their ethnicity is $$$. Look what these 3 countries did to Afghanistan. You think it was all US and then US lost and then Biden gave up? Not that simple. They got what they wanted in Afghanistan. Dig in and see how these countries together, yes together, sucked up and looted all the lithium in Afghanistan. Once we see what is lithium used for then we get closer to who these so called elite people are. China, US, and Russia playing the same game with Iran. What, Biden relieves the sanctions and then Iran will sway and goes in bed with Russia and China? If these were about countries that would be the last thing Biden would do. And these US special interests are ok with pushing Biden to make a deal with Iran so that China and Russia benefit from it? It just does not add up.

Comments: Keefer, At this time, it is very difficult to rise up to the second Pot...; especially when you consider many teams below us are fighting for qualification and it is possible they will win their remaining games, gaining huge points in the process and pass us in rankings, pushing us even lower. But to answer your question, we need to do three things, if we are to be in the top-a6 WC Qualified teams: 1) Win remaining three WC qualifying games; especially against Korea to ensure maximum point gain; 2) schedule high-level "Friendly" games with reputable teams; preferably European teams; 3) win by good margins; good goal difference And to answer your other question regarding CQ; he may have been construed as "defensive coach", but that may not have been entirely true. Iran's counter-attacks were feared by many, including by Spain and Portugal during the last world Cup. We had a good potent offense also, but our problem as always has been "finishing" , which still plagues us.

Comments: Having said that, being in Pot-3 is not necessarily bad; especially since Mexico and USA will be in Pot-2 now... Here is what I think various Pots will look like (early prediction):
Comments: I am convinced that if we had CQ as coach this year, our chance of advancing would have greatly increased. I'd say that realistically, our chance of finishing in WC's top-16 teams is <20%. First of all, I just checked the new ranking and IRAN lost one place, and we are now placed lower at the 22nd place. This means we have to beat 7 out of the 10 teams that are currently ahead of us, and hope no one gets ahead of us in future rankings. Unfortunately, If we win all our remaining three games, I only see us beating 5 teams, which means two team will still be ahead of us, implying that we will be ranked 18th in the World Cup, hence will be placed in the 3rd Pot. They are as follows (from highest to the lowest rank): 1) Italy; ranked #4 - Most likely will Qualify 2) Portugal; ranked #8 - Most likely will NOT Qualify 3) Mexico; ranked #9 - Most likely will Qualify 4) USA; ranked #13 - Most likely will Qualify 5) Uruguay; ranked #15 - Most likely will Qualify 6) Colombia; ranked #16 - Most likely will NOT Qualify 7) Sweden; ranked #17 - Most likely will Qualify 8) Wales; ranked #19 - Most likely will NOT Qualify 9) Senegal; ranked #20 - Most likely will NOT Qualify 10) Chile; ranked #21 - Most likely will NOT Qualify

Comments: A choice of top foreign coach is kind of improbable at this point in time and I am not sure it is even in our best interest. Now that this guy has turned things around with TM he deserves to stay put but, but with a committee of our vatani coaches as advisors. Off course only if our vatani coaches put aside their grudges for sake of the country.

Comments: Ali, we see it differently. The situation you describe, describes the US well, but not China or Russia. I seriously doubt that Putin and XI are not looking at this as Russia or China against the US. So, definitely what you are describing is only partially true which makes this whole thing even worse for the US. The US is run for the interests of a few and those few definitely are not looking at the world patriotically. They look after their own pockets. So, they will go where the money goes and are able to control the government which is why US foreign policy has gone distinctly against the interests of United States, the country, but has benefited those few that you list. This is also why China found the opportunity to become a world economic power. The danger is that Xi, and putin look at it as a China or Russia thing. This will have those few that you list to sell out the interests of the US for the interests of China when they see more money that way.
Comments: ShahryAr and Zinsky, forget about winning, we might lose the game against Korea. This has a higher possibility.
Comments: Keefer jAn, remember that Daei is banned from Football and so, he is not going to come out and say I want it. But I am sure he would accept it with a bunch of conditions. In terms of know how, surely he is better than the rest of that list and the current coach. But whether he is good enough to get us out of our group in the WC, I don't know. He would need a bunch of preparatory games. The biggest problem with Daei is that he wants it done right and this is not currently in the cards. May be if Tahrim is lifted right away.
Comments: They could bring a vatani coach to replace the current coach but it will be hard to explain why? This guy is not the best but has a good record and as cheap as any vatani coach, I assume.
Comments: Shahryar khan, Thanks for the explanation. Top 16 would be hard if not impossible but as you mentioned, there are teams in top 16 that might not make it. If we do make it to pot 2, we will be grouped with 2 teams with lower rankings. It can’t be from Asia so it leaves the possibility of an African and one from north/central America. I have not followed other teams. Who can we beat with some work and some luck? Never mind!!! 🤪
