Comments: Leverkusen will play Stuttgart tomorrow morning at 9:30 Pacific time. I wonder if this will be SardAr's first game with the team.
Comments: ShahryAr jAn, we think alike. I cannot find anything I disagree with there. but would love to learn more about your coaching experience. I also coached a bit for my kids' teams and had a horrible experience. I mostly had kids who just did not want to play soccer. Most were not athletic at all and by force of parents they were there. And then I would also get one or two athletic kids who also did not want to play soccer. their interest was another sport (Baseball, Basketball, football, etc.) and in off season, they would end up in my team again by force of parents.

Comments: Faramarz JAn, I am also pessimistic with our team this year. I already stated this, that I do not believe we have the right coach. In contrast, I was very optimistic last WC with CQ, and I thought we would advance to the next stage. And we came extremely close even though we had two top-tier European teams in our group, with one of them, ex-champions (both were in top-10). And Morocco was African champions, with most of their players paying in France and other top leagues in Europe. As for CQ being defensive-minded coach, I have no problem with that. I also used to coach (Semi-Pro and AYSO), and had a similar style. You have to strengthen your defenses first, before focusing on offence. What is the use of scoring two or three goals in every game, when you are giving up three or for goals! But with more firepower that we have this year, I believe CQ could have finally accomplished our long-sought after goal of advancing to the knockout stage. Desert Man Jan... I liked your analysis on the various remaining European teams and you may have changed my mind about who actually may qualify; thanks. And your statements about CQ and his legacy are right on the target. Unfortunately, there are a lot of "egos" in Iran that want to prove they are right and never liked CQ, and ended up destroying much of CQ's foundation, I am afraid to say. For this reason alone, I think this will be a dismal showing of TM this year. I will of course still root for them and hope we can get an easy group and advance.

Comments: Didn't Raeisi sit behind the same long table? Did he also refuse to test or did his test come out to be positive?
Comments: So, Putin is worried about COVID? I thought he got Sputnik V. did you guys know that if you want to travel to Russia, they require for you to be vaccinated. But they will not accept any vaccine but SPUTNIK V.
Comments: DM jAn, I love the persian panther/cougar/cheetah (whichever one it is). Any design with it, I enjoy. Well done with the design!
Comments: Keefer jAn, the biggest problem that I see with out team is the disorganization. We come into each game like a pick up game. I do not think Iranian assistant coaches will fix this. I hope I am wrong since what you are suggesting may very well be what we will see.
Comments: Observer, believe me, there is nothing more I would have loved to bring in an offensive minded coach and with these great offensive players take it to the opponents in our WC games. But when I look without any emotions, I see two world class forwards, and then two mid-level European midfielders in JB and Ghodus. But the rest of the team is subpar. There is nothing more that I like if a coach came in and made our players play like Japan does. I loved how they dismantled a great Danish team two WCs ago. We could do that too. But the current coach is not it. This is obvious. So, really the question is not what is the most ideal coach. It is more what is the best we can do with current conditions. I think we can do better than the current coach. But definitely there is neither time, money, management, or the sanction-free operation that would allow us to get the ideal.
