On the other hand, most remember the last 50+ years. The West prevented us from having a democratic government helping Shah retake power and few years later needed to get rid of him as he was not being the dedicated servant as expected. Comments: Here is the problem. As patriotic as we all are and desire a strong nation we can never forget our people. Strength of our military and they proxies we have in the neighborhood is not designated to protect our nation. It is there to protect the elite mafia people who elevated the poverty line to 60%. Time and time it has been proven that this regime is not reformable. In the past decades with inclusion of Iran Iraq war and also the sanctions by the west , which in both cases we created them for ourselves, Iran has made trillions of dollars. But where did the go. We get excited with an x ray machine after 4 decades, we get excited sending a satellite to the space and then you look at the roads and urban outside of Tehran and it looks so grim. The future of the noble people of Iran under this mafia based regime looks dark. There is no one (even a eslahtalab) who can reform they way the country is ran. The change has to come from within and these guys have to go. With this status quo the nation will not progress. When a whole mountain of copper is owned by an individual (which belongs to the nation) and the individual is under the protection of the government no change can be done. The country pretty much adopted the way Soviet ruled. And now we see that their very idol and partner is backstabbing them and complicated the window of the opportunity for the nation to take steps towards prosperity. Again just because one thing is bad it does not make the alternative better. Trump was bad for America, and now we see with Biden the world fell in total disarray. The shah was indeed bad but then after 4 decades we see the alternative is not better. Now I am hearing that Russia as a partner is not good so let's focus on China. I have lived in China. I see how people being controlled by ruling party. There should be no problem for a nation to have access to google or YouTube or any other medium which the government deprives. Why? Could not live there after 3 months and came back to Europe. Iran has to be an independent nation and does not need a sponsor like Russia nor China. And agains that does not mean to fall on the lap of the west. Iran should play the game right be a player internationally and focus on prosperity of its nation. Enough of Israel this Israel that. Enough of US this US that. Enough of China and Russia. Come out reset the button and tell the world our intent is to be part of the global world. It is as easy as that. But you need genuine elected government by people to get there and We know the sanctions relief will not be dedicated to the people. We all know that. But then again people under brutality cannot do much. Just like how they can't do it in China or Russia.
