Comments: Iran has not yet confirmed that it will extend the ceasefire. They brought actual missles and launchers to Vanak sqaure tonight. https://snn.ir/fa/news/1396172/%D9%84%D8%A7%D9%86%DA%86%D8%B1%D9%87%D8%A7%DB%8C-%D9%85%D9%88%D8%B4%DA%A9%DB%8C-%D8%A8%D9%87-%D9%85%DB%8C%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%86-%D9%88%D9%86%DA%A9-%D8%B1%D8%B3%DB%8C%D8%AF%D9%86%D8%AF
Comments: President Trump said he was extending a cease-fire with Iran on Tuesday afternoon, just hours before it was set to expire. The announcement came after Vice President JD Vance’s trip to Pakistan for a second round of negotiations with Iran was put on hold because, according to a U.S. official, Tehran failed to respond to American positions. Iran did not immediately respond to the news. The president made the announcement on Truth Social. He said he had received a request from Pakistan, which is attempting to mediate an end to the war, to hold off any attacks. Mr. Trump said a cease-fire would stay in effect until Iran’s “leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal.” Mr. Trump’s announcement was a marked departure from his comments earlier in the day, when he told CNBC that if Iran did not agree to U.S. demand, “I expect to be bombing.” He also said the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz would continue. Iran, for its part, had earlier called for the United States to lift its naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, called the blockade “an act of war.” Even if the two sides return to the negotiating table, many sticking points remain, chiefly on Iran’s nuclear program and on the Strait of Hormuz, a strategic conduit for oil and gas. The threat of Iranian attacks has throttled shipping traffic through the strait, prompting an American blockade of Iranian ports that the U.S. Navy says has forced 28 ships to turn around.
Comments: Meanwhile Trump is losing support even among his most loyal supporters in the U.S. His popularity is the lowest ever for a POTUS, even lower than Nixon after watergate and before resgination. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PfWpw847zbI
Comments: The head of IRGC aerospace division came out with a statement tonight which was read live at Vanak square in Tehran. In the statement he promised that he will let people choose the targets for his forces if the war resumes.

Comments: Zinsky I agree. It will be hard to even go back to a month ago, let alone 50 years ago. I think the country's infrastructure is already significantly damaged.
Comments: Maghsoud do you mean ArAghchi? I think he has been pushed aside, IMO. Hardliners are in full control.
Comments: All I can say is that Iran will not see peace and prosperity anytime soon. The best we could hope for is going back to pre-war status. It might already be too late for that!

Comments: Do you guys know what happened to GhAlibAf? He has not tweeted since that last message that IRGC condemned. I think the hardliners are now fully in control. No one left for negotiations.
Comments: I am not sure you guys have heard. The damage to Burj al Arab will take two years to repair. So, even if the war ends today, it will be closed for two more years. And from the other side, IRGC has announced that it is ready to "chastise" Trump. 🤣 I think this means the destruction of the GCC countries. They call it the "final chastisement".
Comments: Yes, there are some very good reasons why this war was such a shit idea. But I do not think Israel cares about the GCC countries, Trump's presidency, or the world economy. I think Israel is completely willing to sacrifice all three. The first one to go (already happened) is Trump's presidency and the idiot does not recognize it. The midterm elections are going to be horrid for him and the Republican Party. If the republican party, in the face of inevitable very long-term disappearance, impeaches Trump, there might be a chance. But we all know how long that process is. Trump himself does does not care about anything but his own legacy and will let it all burn. so, without his removal, I do not see a way out of Israel's control.
Comments: The WSJ reports that the UAE has requested a US financial backstop. As a former member of the UAE's Financial Advisory Council (2008–14), it’s clear to me that the UAE’s request signals that the collateral damage from the US-Israeli war on Iran is much greater than reported.
Comments: https://x.com/steve_hanke/status/2046255832384385299 Meanwhile GCC countries will collapse economically n with them the world economy. This maybe the only thing stopping US from going PIsrael’s way
Comments: If he goes the Israel way, which is much more likely because they have his Epstein files, I do not see any way around the nukes. Israel will soon become desperate. After that the whole existence of the state of Israel will come under question but not before a great deal of death and destruction in Iran. The mediator will be done regardless of which way he goes. This is a lose-lose situation for him. At least if he goes the he wont have a nuclear conflict in his record and millions of deaths. But clearly he does not care about that. |
