Comments: Faramarz jan, did I read it correctly? The US, in support of environment and peace in west Asia or anywhere else, for that matter in the world? The oil companies and industrial military complex go along with that? War and later oil added, is the bread and butter of this giant since her inception, no?
Comments: The thing about the climate change and how much will Biden and democrats push is that American politicians have always relied on two principles:
1. American voters do not have any conscience or moral standing. 2. They r uneducated and so moral standards cannot be taught.
This leads to a very easy path for the republicans (the party rather than the individulas). They will do whatever that is immoral without fear of consequences, as long as they make sure people r not hurt in their pocket. So, they have gone around and F'ed up the world anyway they want, fully relying on the two facts above leading to believe that "Americans do not care." This leads to candidates saying things like: I can kill someone and no one will care. And this is true for the 30%-40% of the American voters.
For the democratic party who mostly tries to beat up some moral or conscientious drum, when it comes to action, they fear the two principles about the American voters and so, even when they are elected, they end up doing nothing (or even worse try to simulate what the republican candidate would do, continue sanctions, be friends with saudi arabia, find ways not to do gun control, avoid anything to meaningfully reduce release of carbon into the atmosphere, etc.) which leads to Biden's situation where he is paralyzed by those two fears. But the world, and the american politicians, especially are now at an interesting crosspoint! If they do not do anything, the whole world will get F’ed and their pockets will dry up. Go figure! It is a sad story, really, for the superpower of the world and the one that claims moral superiority.
