پنجم شهریورماه، زادروز اسطوره همیشگی ورزش ایران است؛ مردی که هموطنان ما فقط به خاطر ورزش، او را دوست ندارند.

امروز، روز تولد یکی از اساطیر ورزش ایران است؛ مردی که نه فقط به خاطر ورزش که به دلیل حضور همیشه مهربانانه و غبطه برانگیزش در جامعه، نامش ورد زبان هاست.

۵ شهریور در تقویم ایرانی، ‎روز تختی و ‎روز کشتی است. این روز به مناسبت تولد جهان پهلوان ‎تختی روز ‎کشتی نام‌گذاری شده است

جهان پهلوان، نه تنها اسمش در ورزشگاه ها و خیابان مختلف نقش بسته، بلکه مجسمه اش با یک دست ‎در موزه آکادمی ورزش آمریکا دیده می شود.

او در یکی از رقابت های جهانی، وقتی دید دستِ کشتی گیر آمریکایی آسیب دیده، ترجیح داد با یک دست مقابل حریفش کشتی بگیرد.

این مجسمه با یک دست ساخته شد تا تاریخ او را فراموش نکند...
