In Lebanon: Israel’s attacks targeting Hezbollah continued Saturday, with the country’s deadly military campaign against the Iran-backed paramilitary group threatening to derail peace efforts. Israeli and Lebanese diplomats plan to meet next week, though Lebanon’s prime minister said he would postpone a visit to Washington, DC, to remain in Beirut.

• Alleged weapons shipment: US intelligence indicates China is preparing to deliver new air defense systems to Iran amid the fragile ceasefire, according to sources. The Chinese embassy in Washington denied the report.

It was always a mystery what was the objective of this war. Some believed it was distraction from Epstein shit. Some believe it was to remove the highly enriched uranium. Some believe it was to eliminate the head of the country and remove the threat of rockets. Some also believe it was a way to make money from the ups and downs of the oil/market.
They made money for sure. That has been achieved. Everything else seems to have backfired.
The war news was bad enough that 1st lady was asked to open up Epstein discussion to distract from the war.

The plan was to weaken IRI! Unfortunately for the people of Iran, it might be a stronger IRI going forward. Stronger might not be the best description, more determined might be a better way to describe it. It will be more militarized system that could give more social freedom but zero political freedom.

The source, who declined to be named due to the sensitivity of the matter, told Reuters that unfreezing the assets was "directly linked to ensuring safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz", which is expected to be a key issue in the talks.
The senior source did not give a value for the assets that Washington had agreed to unfreeze. A second Iranian source said the United States had agreed to release $6 billion of frozen Iranian funds held by Qatar.

I would also ask for a permanent seat in the UN Security Council.

Observes, if those terms come to reality, IRI will build a huge military and an external intelligence apparatus because the Persian Gulf countries will sooner or later challenge it. So, Iran will have to be ready for forever hostilities with these countries and be either ready to invade and take some of these countries militarily for the purpose of regime change or play a role to over through those governments internally. Those countries have always wanted harm to Iran. This was also true during Shah's time too. Now, they have a reason to act on it. So, Iran better be ready.

This is a good account of all the atrocities that US and CIA have committed all around the world.

The stakes are indeed very high for Iran. The expenditure for military and civilian reconstruction with the expected revenues will generate an economic boom of unseen proportaions for Iran.

That's why I expect a quick agreement.

The Hormuz revenue potential for Iran is estimated to be at  between $70-$120 billion yearly. That's more than Iran's yearly income from crude sales.

Iranian delegation has landed in Pakistan led by speaker Ghalibaf. JD Vance and the American delegation arrived earlier.

My gut feeling is that they will come a very quick agreement mostly based on the Iranian 10 point proposal.

Iran will agree to dilute the 400kg 60% enriched uranium to 20% or less but keep it in Iran.

All Iranian forzen assests will be released and banking sanctions removed.

Iran will maintan enrichment rights and allow IAEA inspectors to monitor it's sites again.

All sides agree to a non-aggression deal on all fronts including Lebanon & Yemen with a formal UNSC resolution.

All previous UNSC resolutions and IAEA resolutions against Iran will be terminated.

Iran & Oman will jointly administer the Hormuz strait with a new toll system.

The isuues of presense of American bases in the Persian Gulf and the compensation will be resolved in a later date after the above confidence building measures are tested for an agreed time period.

He has been literally banned from traveling to his own country!!!
Pope Leo XIV has described the spread of the war through the Middle East as "absurd and inhuman violence", adding people's lives in the conflict have been considered "at most collateral damage of self-interest".
"No gain can be worth the life of the weakest, children, or families," he said in a series of posts on X earlier this afternoon.
Pope Leo said in the same thread that no "disciple of Christ" is on the side of those who "drop bombs".
"Military action will not create space for freedom or times of #Peace, external," he wrote.
