Comments: Wise choice, Shahryar jAn. If the airport closes for any reason, sabotage, strike, etc. travelers are stuck in definitely. I know of several friends who had planned to go during Christmas but have now canceled their trips.
Comments: Faramarz, I also heard that Lufthansa and Austrian have suspended their flights to Iran; it may be temporary, but time will tell. My cousin who was scheduled to travel home from US, has cancelled her trip, at least for now.

Although there are a lot of signs indicating that, I am not so sure. This government may be very ideological and old fashioned in their beliefs, but they are not stupid. I see this eventually going away with Government making some concessions but saving face at the same time. In the US (~10 years ago), similar thing happened with the 1% protests, and they were crushed as the Winter came, and that was all she wrote. Agreed this is not quite similar, but the results will most likely be.

Comments: Zinsky jAn damet garm! This is what I have been waiting to hear: The match between Iran and Tunisia will be played behind closed doors. I think this is critically important for us. We have a very shallow bench. We are not like England that can call on to dozens of players at the nearly he same level. The players that we see on he roster is it. Beyond the starting 11 (even some of the starting 11) are subpar. So, really, what we have left is the tactics and how CQ will arrange them. We really would like to practice this without giving the only weapon we have away.

He is as red blooded american as Trump and his avid supporter. He also thinks that we should eat a lot of fruit because they are offensive. But we should not eat a lot of vegetables because they are defensive. They do not want to be eaten. He is full of great ideas. In all honesty though, Taremi is great, but the worst part about this video is that we are no longer an unknown quality. Everyone knows who we are, that we have CQ, and that we may be tough to beat. I do not like this situation.

The comments come as Iran's theocracy has been unable to contain the demonstrations, sparked by the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini after her detention by the country's morality police. There is no evidence linking extremist groups to the widespread, largely peaceful demonstrations that have been repeatedly targeted by a heavy-handed security force crackdown in the country. The protests, the most serious unrest to grip Iran since its 2009 Green Movement demonstrations, have vented anger over Iran's cratered economy and its theocracy. Over 200 people have been killed, with thousands of others arrested by police, activists say. On Wednesday, a gunman opened fire on worshippers at Shiraz's Shah Cheragh mosque, the second-holiest site in Iran. State media said at least 15 people were killed in the assault, which authorities initially attributed to multiple gunmen.

Comments: Learning from history! Iranian revolution of 1979 started nearly 2 years earlier. It was not a ongoing demonstration everyday but kept alive thanks to BBC and VOA radio stations. Massive demonstrations were planned every now and then and every death resulted from government attacks were used to start another demonstration. Out of nowhere, Khomeini became the leader of the revolution. His speeches were broadcasted via BBC, VOA and other outlets. A man who was mainly unknown to Iranians suddenly was famous thanks to Western media. Shah was pressured by the West to make changes which only showed his weakness and beliefs in western friendship and support. Shah was fooled by western powers to leave Iran thinking they have his back. Most of the opposition thought they found a leader who can help remove the shah. They were right in one sense but didn’t see how they would be next. Iranians have tried the same tactics in the past few years but now realize they don’t need a leader with empty promises. This movement is different. Young people of Iran, specifically girls are leading this revolt. They will find their leader but not just one assigned by the west or media. I don’t expect a massive change in days, weeks or even months. This is a movement that takes time to find its footing. Iranians don’t want to make the same mistakes of the past.

Comments: Guys, I second Shahryar's recommendation. The more you let the pest irritate you, the more you react, the worse this becomes. I just scroll through the troll posts. No reason to get so upset about it. And to be honest, if you guys posted more, the trolls would get washed out. Instead you guys post less. This is letting them win. Iranic for example is the mouth piece of the government. just scroll and post your own opinion. The troll is doing this to destroy this site. Don't let him.
