Comments: It is over for now. No support meant more power to the regime and less hope for the people. People in Iran talk about the number of deaths in thousands, tens of thousands! Hard to verify anything but that is what they say. I had two family members who got injured during the demonstrations. One is more serious with eye injury. The other one is just bruised and limping some due to getting beaten up. One more friend of the family, a business owner, was arrested and later released (paying a hefty fine) for allegedly closing his shop during the demonstration!
Comments: Great to have you back Zinsky jAn. Wow, you're going to have to tell us how home was. There was an NPR interview in VAn, at the border of Turkey with people who were coming out and that was very enlightening. I will summarize later after a long meeting! But would love to hear your experience.
Comments: Back to USA! Took a quick trip back home. Mood is very sad among everyone. Very disappointed and discouraged. I had no problem getting in and out of Iran and no issues returning here. People are finding ways to communicate with the love ones overseas using local chat rooms. One that is kind of strange is called https://web.bale.ai! I’m not sure how safe it is but… No actual news about the internet but most are hoping for the end of the week! We shall see
Comments: My Turkish Air turk app, even says we can purchase tix for Feb 6 at TL 5414/43=$125.907 This is really sad 😢
Comments: So, it is over? Just like that?
Comments: Qatar Airlines has resumed flights to Tehran. 😟😟😟

Comments: I am also in touch with relatives in Iran. Internet is not totally out. All local systems are working. People can do their banking, shopping and chatting on the national internet. But access to global apps is blocked for now due to security reasons. They miss what's app the most since they used it for free contact with relatives overseas.
Comments: FYI, got off the phone with folks in Iran. He said he doesn’t see any possibility of internet being restored. There’s a heavy presence of riot police and Basiji on the street and random car searches. They think when those big planes from Russia n China were landing in Iran were carrying mostly radar jamming devices and it seems whatever they have deployed is working at the moment. They also have used a tracking system (not sure how true) to crack down on those using StarLink. They are basically parading anyone caught with StarLink as Mossad agent on TV and forcing them to confess. Now you have the latest 😉

Comments: I thought his speech is all great. But he whimped out when he said we will not use force on Greenland. I think he needs to man up.

Comments: There are some great leaders among Iranians. They just do not see the light of day. They are not allowed to put up a platform for their ideas because of the avalanche of propaganda that is hurled at us for the promotion of one single candidate. This is how you stifle democracy without making it look like you are.
Comments: We have all been on the receiving end of that Zelle! I know exactly what you are talking about and this is what scares me. They leave no room for an alternative. This is how every dictatorship has started.
Comments: Faramarz, actually that was also appearing in the comments section. What’s amazing is the fervor and Zelle by which his supporters will come after you if you even question the smallest thing about him or his leadershipWe all have seen it on unyeki and the abuse they hurled at people here and there. This is real n goes on in real life too
Comments: Reshti, t he problem is not simply the speaker who’s off of his knickers, it’s the people who are advocating for his ascendancy. It feels like trading one venomous snake for another
