And I have full confidence in the players to give their utmost effort to achieve their dreams. I find it absurd that some 'fans' demand the players to act in a certain way. These people have never ever been in a position to work hard for many many years in order to become the best in something. Only TM players understand their own situation since they have been through the process. I just wish them the best.

CQ and TM are exactly where they want to be, don't lose one match and make history. TM has so far played 4 halves of football and lost the first 0-3 and won the rest with a combined 4-3 score line. That tells me the team is going in the right direction and can achieve their goal.

Is tomorrow, Nov. 29 2022, going to be another historic day for Iranian football as was Nov. 29, 1997? I hope so but not in the same manner as we are all 25 years older and our hearts not as healthy!

He had a strange way of taking the PK. He jumped up just before kicking the ball!

Zinsky,

So far US has played two great first halves against Wales and England. They let down in the second half somehow; although this is a do or die situation, and I do not think they will let down at all.

If that is true however, if TM and CQ can keep the first half scoreless, or close, we have a chance to come back in the second half.

Shahryar,
Totally agreed! Iran played their best game against Wales. Hope they can keep up.
I think Azmond won’t start. If by 1st half we are either winning or tied, he might stay out the whole game. He will come in, hurt or not, if we need a goal in 2nd half.
Taremi seems fine as far as I can tell.

Here are my concerns for IRAN before tomorrow's game:

Player health and availability:

1) Sardar played hurt the last time and may still be hurt. We need his talent and creativity against the US

2) Biranvand's injury; not sure if he recovered, but regardless, he may start when he is not ready yet

3) JB has 2 yellow cards and is out

4) is Taremi OK, after the high kick he received from the Welsh goalie?

Jubilation and feeling of accomplishment after win over Wales. Typically after such a big win, the team underpreforms the next game (look at Japan).

USA is riding high and is very hungry for a win. The fact that they need a win will fuel them throughout the game. Iran needing only a draw, worries me.

HAMVATAN,
My bad! I never heard it before. Thanks for the history article. History used to my worse subject in high school and college. I hated memorizing stuff. Now that I read history just to learn, it’s so much fun.

Zinsky, interesting history about this poem for Mashrooteh and freedom movement including the reference to shahide Amrikayee.

Zinsky, that song has been around for a long time but it does fit todays events.

Netherlands 4–0 Qatar

Ecuador 2–2 Senegal

Iran 2 – 1 US

Wales 1–3 England

I could understand resting the best players after scoring a goal or two but starting without them in a WC, knowing a win will guarantee advancement to the next round doesn’t make sense.
They could rest them in their last game after qualifying!
Lesson is that one can’t underestimate any team. Costa Rica is not a good team but good enough to beat them…
