Comments: The family home of Iranian rock climber Elnaz Rekabi has been demolished, according to the pro-reform news outlet IranWire, after she rose to international prominence this fall for competing with her head uncovered. Rekabi competed without her hijab in South Korea in October, just as anti-regime protests swept Iran following the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini while in the custody of the morality police for allegedly not wearing her hijab properly. Some Iranian demonstrators saw Rekabi as a symbol of the national uprising calling for greater freedoms for women. However, human rights groups expressed fears for her safety when she returned to Tehran.

Comments: Morocco has pretty much the same team as they had in 2018 when they lost to Iran and got eliminated. Then they fired their "world class" coach, hired a local one and with the same core of players ended up topping their groups in Qatar.

If Iran had played a little better in the first half, ND was less defensive, or one of the two penalty calls were called, we would be there and USA will be home now. My Korea 2-1 prediction came through, just like yesterday's Japan score :) I hope I will get out of the 9th spot after today, but competition is tough.
Comments: I haven't been able to watch any of the games today. Work ...  But still, these results are amazing and really exciting for Asia! Importantly, Asia has 4.5 spots, three made it out of the group stage. With Iran, it would have been 4! This is the best ratio! 67% without Iran and would have been 89% with Iran!!!!! This is better than any other continent. North/Central America has one, barely make it, thanks to a crappy Iran show. They had 3.5 spots? That is 29%. This may be the lowest. Or is Africa the lowest? But the point is that had Iran showed up, north america would have been 0%!
