Comments: According to an article from iflscience, most soccer players receive a new pair of socks immediately before the start of every game. Because it is a new pair of socks, the synthetic fabric isn't flexible enough yet and sometimes turns out to be too tight, especially for those with big calves. The tight socks can be very uncomfortable and restricting, and sometimes can even cut off blood circulation, which can lead to cramps. Comments: Faramarz, The hand-ball PK call in that game was legitimate, in my opinion. It doesn't matter if the player intended to touch the ball, but it did deflect the ball and changed its direction. That is a PK.

Comments: I think Netherlands is a stronger team than England, both in terms of players and coaching. The game against Argentina will be interesting. I picked them to beat Argentin only because I need to catch up to Zinsky. Otherwise, I think Argentina with Messi and the rest doing average can beat the Dutch.
Comments: Come on guys, you cannot do analysis so naively. Opponents matter. A tie against a tough opponent counts much more than a win against a weak opponent. England has racked up their record against the weakest opponents, an Iran in disarray, US (what can I say more), and a Wales who should not have been in this world cup to begin with. Then they ran into Senegal, the weakest team from Africa. Had they run into Morocco, they would have been eliminated in the group stage. I think this is the end of the road for England. The difference between them and France is not even funny. Here is how that game is going to go. They will park the buss and hope that a counter attack or a draw will get them to PKs. If it gets to PKs, the weaker team will have a mental advantage. And, England is much, much weaker.
Comments: I am big on England. They have 6 forwards that can be all starters on any remaining team. But their midfield is too young and relatively inexperienced and their defense is shaky. Jordan Henderson is the key for them, he delivered in the 1/8 finals. If they can pass France I see them in the final, but that's not easy!
Comments: Shahryar, I expect a good game between England and France.

Comments: Zinsky, England's records this World Cup is certainly very positive; but some could argue that haven't really been tested yet. I believe their biggest test is coming up against France, and based on what I have seen so far from both teams, France should win this one easily.
Comments: I know most people are not big on England in this WC. So far they played 4 games, won 3 and tied one. Scored 12 goals and only 2 goals against them (both by Taremi). They probably have the best record so far (I have to check). They might not be the best team for variety of reasons but they are much better than I personally expected.
