I do not think Brazil is as good as everyone made them out to be. They had skill, but all alone, it was obvious they did not have creativity. Their coaching is also suspect. I would have done the second half entirely differently. This outcome was very predictable after the first half.

Well, you actually said it yourself; Belgium always had a lot of hype; but that is it. I have never seen them deliver when it counted; unlike France, Brazil, Argentina, and yes, Germany. So their performance from my perspective has been up to par. 

Speaking of Germany, I thought they actually did well; losing against a superior Japan team was noting to be ashamed of. They did well against Spain and came back from a goal behind to beat Costa Rica 4-2..., It just wasn't their year. They disappointed for sure, but did not play badly.

What about Belgium? I have been most disappointed by Belgium not in this WC but also the last 2. Thye always come with such hype and all that dissipates as soon as you see them walk onto the field. such poor body language and a game to match it!

With that said, Qatar was the most disappointing as a host. They lost all three games and not just lost; they were really bad.

I watched most of the games in this World Cup (not all), and frankly, I felt that all teams did really well. There were games that certain teams played far below their potential (by comparing them with their other games in this same tournament).

Let me pick on an easy target; Qatar. They certainly "Underwhelmed" in their first game. Their subsequent games, they did better, and closer to their potential. Keep in mind, their potential was not that high!

Our own IRAN team came apart during the first game and played far below their capabilities (I know there were reasons for that; I am just looking at the results). 

I felt Argentina played below their capabilities in a couple of games, even against Australia.

Poland was a big disappointment too, with their big star Lewandowski playing poorly, bringing down his team and missing 2 PKs (the last one he was able to redo and make). 

The biggest disappointment I though was Uruguay; I expected them to be in the last 8 teams.
