Comments: What a game by Morocco. They are taking it to the Portuguese. They could have and should have been up by three now!

Comments: No Ronaldo!
Comments: Shahryar Jan, Appreciate it. Not just old, lazy as well! Only took couple of clicks to find them but seemed like a workout…
Comments: Zinsky, your predictions in order for today:
Comments: I don’t remember my predictions 😜. Old age …

Comments: Zinsky, belakhareh nafahmidim FarAnse yA ArgAntine? ![]() I do not think Croatia has been lucky. They are a godo team and with the style they play, they are challenging for any team. We saw what they did to Brazil which I think is stronger than France. IMO, the big unknown is how well rested they will be against Argentina. They have had two overtime wins! Argentina will have had one. I think fitness and stamina will determine this one. Otherwise, I think Croatia can bring down any of these teams. Argentina needs to bring the rest of its team back online. In the moments that they did, they became a much more dangerous team and in fact, the PK in the game was someone other than Messi doing good. I really like Di Maria coming off the bench. It adds a very potent dimension to this Argentinian team. Without the rest of the team, Argentina may have difficulty if they run into France. At this stage, France is clearly the team to beat, until like Brazil, they too are beaten. The challenge is that the teams that might beat France will arrive to the final battered. So, everything is up in the air in my book. The rest of the teams, Morocco, Portugal, and England are clearly below the level of the other three and so, I do not think they will play a role in the title game. Tomorrow England will park the bus, hoping to drag the game to the PKs. Morocco - Portugal will be more interesting, IMO.
Comments: As you know, I had selected Argentina to win the whole thing prior to start of the tournament. but after seeing several of their games, I am not so sure anymore. I agree that France had an easier task so far, but they certainly impressed me so far. Very disciplined, like Spain 12 years ago.
Comments: Brazil was the better team. Argentina was also the better team. I was looking forward to seeing them play each other. Just about everyone believes France will go all the way to final. I think England could be the team that is not better but wins tomorrow. I also don’t think Croatia will go any further. They have been lucky enough for one World Cup! I think Argentina could go all the way…
Comments: When a tournament goes this far, the rest of the way really goes to the team that manages its bodies best. Exhaustion will become a factor, especially for a team like Croatia that has gone through two grueling 120+ minute games in a row, as compared to France who are sailing through easily. France's draw was much simpler. I do not think england will present much of a challenge tomorrow either and so, they will arrive fresh at quarter finals where they have to face the sever underdogs again. If Croatia makes it to the final, there will be a significant difference in conditioning between the two teams.
Comments: I never get the flu shot, but this year I did because it was obvious this was coming: Many hospitalization and death have been reported following Thanksgiving week. A decade high rate of flu hospitalization has been reported. As estimated 120K hospitalization and 7300 death from flu.
Comments: I predicted both games the opposite way. So, next time, I will predict against my instincts. In the immortal words of George: "If every instinct that I have is wrong, the opposite must be right."
Comments: Shahryar, You have no idea!!! I was jumping up and down after that goal as if Iran won the World Cup 🤪 Only if they would have won the penalty shootout! I would have collected even more points…
Comments: Argentina nearly won this game in regulation time 2-1. It was the absolute last play by Netherlands, which by the way was brilliant that tied this game and forced the extra time and PKs. The reason I am saying this is that there were 8 contestants that had predicted a 2-1 win for Argentina (including Parviz), which would have cleared 10 points, instead of only 2 points. This is why Agha Zinsky is still in first place. So Zinsky should really be happy with Netherland's last-second goal lol
Comments: As expected, I have sunk! :) Zinsky, two new people are hot on your chase and u can never count out Parviz.

Comments: Still #1? Didn’t see that one…
Comments: Two great games. Very close till the last second. I usually don’t like the games to be decided by penalties but these two games were worth watching till the end. |
