Farid, we used to live in Chicago. I was in dental school at Northwestern. It was 1995 and my son was only one year old. We almost lost him due to dehydration. The heat index was record high and was like Ahwaz that Zinsky posted. It was truly unbearable if you are not used to it. They predict 2024 will be another breaking record due to global warming.

Was just checking the southern hemisphere and Australia on their heat record and at first I was shocked that in both cases it was in January. Year 1960 and 2022 In Oodnadatta and Onslow,, respectively. Then I figured January in Australia is summer 😊. Must be cold there now.

I’m so sorry for what you are going through. I did lose my father few years back. It’s never easy but being away makes it even harder.

I traveled back and forth multiple times but at the end was not there when he passed away.

It is the fact of life. We all have to go through it sooner or later. I have a feeling it’s not as bad for the ones leaving as much as it is for the ones they leave behind.

Be strong and do what you can. The rest is just life…

I have never voted in the general elections. It is stupid to think that the two parties r different. They just rile up people for their own benefits and then once in the power, they each have their own way of stabbing the people in the back. Same suspects gets the benefit and nothing will be any different.

Thanks Realist for posting that clip. What an amazing gesture indeed. I cannot believe the level of cruelty that is associated with such acts and the fact they keep doubling down on their mistakes at the highest levels of government is appalling.

بیرانوند با پرسپولیس دوساله بست
تسنیم نوشت: دروازه بان ملی پوش پرسپولیس بار دیگر با این باشگاه قرارداد امضا کرد.
علیرضا بیرانوند که سه روز پیش قرارداد خود را با باشگاه پرسپولیس فسخ کرده بود پس از کش و قوس فراوان بار دیگر با این باشگاه به توافق رسید و قرارداد خود را به مدت دو فصل دیگر امضا کرد.
بیرانوند ساعتی پیش پس از وساطت وحید امیری و چند بازیکن دیگر برای مذاکره با مدیران باشگاه پرسپولیس وارد ساختمان این باشگاه شده بود .
بیرانوند طی چند روز گذشته مذاکراتی رو با باشگاه استقلال انجام داده بود اما در نهایت این بمب نقل و انتقالاتی بزرگ خنثی شد و این دروازه بان ملی پوش در جمع سرخپوش باقی ماند.

Lately, I have been preoccupied with my mom's health issues. I remember how distraught Zinsky was a few years ago, before he lost his beloved father; so he can relate to my situation, as I am sure most our doostan can. I fear that the news will not be so good for my mom, in the upcoming weeks.

I agree with you two that the global warming is the most under-discussed threat that our world faces today, due mainly to politicians. Mostly the Republicans, but democrats are at fault also. The whole worlds of politics is a corrupt one. It is sad that we look at the democrats as the lesser of two evils, but they are both effectively are from the same cloth.
