Comments: Faramarz, The heatwave hitting the south & the west seems to be sticking around. As you said, it used to be few days here, few days there but now it goes for weeks and in all reality, people & the grid system is not going to handle that! When I 1st moved to SoCal, nearly 80% of the coastal communities didn’t have ACs. I’m not sure if that is a possibility anymore. Days/weeks of 80-90 degrees is not fun without AC! Back east has been dealing with the smoky weather from Canada. It comes and goes. Luckily, it rains ones or twice a week. At least clears the air for a while. Unfortunately, when it comes to weather and climate, the effects are everywhere. They are different effects but extreme either way!

Comments: LOL that was no luck. A lot of planning and hard work went into the ten years of not allowing any goals in any official games. Kurosh is the best coach (with the possible exception of Ivic) that we have had in TM, before of after the revolution. This is not to say that he is the best coach in the world. He is the best coach for us at this time for the world cup. We lack infrastructure, any preparation, and a league that can put together strong players (at the international level) systematically. What we have is just what came up by chance. He took that, organized the team, and gave us a fighting chance against the likes of Argentina with Messi, Spain, and Portugal. We nearly made it to the second round with these teams in our group. That is no small feet with the likes of HAj Safi and the gang in the midfield.

But I do agree with the sentiment of the articles that I think Messi made a mistake with a no name team in a no name league after the highest peak in his career. Comments: Zinsky, it has been so hot here. But we have had hot days before. What is so surprising to me is how long the extreme weather lasts. We used to have heat warnings for a day or at most two. Now the heat forecast is for weeks. We are predicted to have two and a half weeks of 80's at the coast, high 90's inland, and 110's with some days reaching 120's in the mountains! Two weeks of this is going to kill every vegetation and set us up for a nice fire season. In the meantime, as far down as Virginia, I hear that people are smelling smoke in the air because of all the fires in Canada! This thing is going to get to worse and worst much faster than people think!

Comments: Sanctions have never been an effective tool in making anything better. They are very effective though to keep the supply chain of countries that are in conflict with United States interests in control and so feed them when necessary and not when it is now to keep the conflicts going. This is why they are used so often. But this only will go so far. If the sanctioned countries become too many, they will form their own independent economics and trades which is what is happening now. I suspect that the US will allow trade with Russia unofficially and then Russia will start sabotaging the trade by gold thing as soon as they are off the hook. |
