Comments: Hello friends. We had a great post-game party, but the game itself was a so so. Australia had too many defensive mistakes. Too much ball watching rather than blocking. Overall though, from what I saw (did not see much because of the party) neither showed up at the level of a semi final. I think Spain will easily take the title, if england shows up like this. I have to say that Faramarz may be right in that I was a bit bummed to see the Ozzies lose. But we partied hard though and so, turned into an eight hour affair! :)

Comments: Aagha Faramarz it was a tough one losing 3-1. But I think we overachieved. England are the euro champions. So in the eyes of the Aussies although we lost we are glad we lost to our sisters of the kingdom. King Charles the king of both our beloved countries was supposed to be here and watch it live but he did not make it. There are rumors he will be here on Sunday. The Japanese team were in the same flight as my sister and I flying into Japan. My sister is same generation as mine but she had never been in Japan. She thought the flight would only be 3 hours. Many people think the same way but in reality it is over 10 hours.
Comments: Yes, I did watch a lot of the Japan - Sweden game. In that game Japan certainly had a lot of chances. There was also one game where England barely survived with a ton of luck. Mistakes and luck seem to have a bigger contribution to the outcome of these games than in the mens games. But definitely, women's games have come a long way.

Comments: I watched few games and was impressed with the quality. You are correct on the goalies not being as tall and easier to score from distance. Also, most headers don’t have the accuracy. Still, these ladies are doing a great job. Japan losing to a Sweden was an upset. They did create many chances but… I think Spain will beat England but not confident enough to bet on it!
Comments: Since we haven't heard from Farid, I am guessing that he is drowning himself in sorrow! I think he started to warm up to the Ozzie team as this tournament went along! Zinsky nice call with england making it to the final. You had the other side also almost correct. The only team on that side better than Japan was Spain.
Comments: On the goals, the Ozzie goal was spectacular. A bit helped with the shorter keeper height. Still a spectacular strike. In this tournament, many consequential goals have been scored by shots over the keeper's head which she could not reach. All three England goals were Ozzie defensive mistakes. Especially the first two were horrible. So many Ozzie players around just ball watching! Headers is the area where women's football needs noticeable improvement. Most headers are like mine!
Comments: I have to say that the one thing that I enjoy more in the girl's game over the men's is the keepers. Their dives are so much more enjoyable. It looks like the old-time keepers like YAshin dives. On the men's side, because of the taller bodies, they rarely have to make spectacular dives like the women do, or old-time men's keepers used to do.
