Some info on Wushu.

It's other name is Kung Fu which is more known by the masses but the sport is called Wushu.

In competition it's divided in 2 parts, Taolu and Sanda.
Taolu is the form part and is similar to rhythmic gymnastics but a lot more difficult.
Sanda is the fighting pat which is a combination of wrestling, boxing, etc...

Iran is very good at Sanda in both men and women. They have given China a very stiff competition ever since they entered the international games.Most finals in Sanda is between Iran and China! Every Sanda player form Iran won a medal in these Asian games in total 2 Gold, 3 Silvers and 1 Bronze for both men and women.

Taolu is the form part that has many many branches, the most famous is Tai Chi which in the US is a meditation form. The sport ones are martial art forms that are performed with or without a weapon. Iran has a few good Taolu performers. The most famous one these days is Zahra Kiani, she won silver in this Asian games and also the last one. I think if she had slanted eyes she will probably win Gold but she's got big beautiful Iranian eyes and the judges are biased

Iran navy harasses US helicopter in international airspace over Arabian Gulf

US Navy condemns 'unsafe, unprofessional, and irresponsible behavior by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy'

An Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy ship repeatedly shined a laser at a U.S. AH-1Z Viper attack Marine helicopter that was flying in international airspace over the Arabian Gulf on Wednesday, according to the United States Navy.

The helicopter was conducting routine operations, according to U.S. Naval Forces Central Command spokesperson Commander Rick Chernitzer.

"This unsafe, unprofessional, and irresponsible behavior by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy risks U.S. and partner nation lives and needs to cease immediately," Chernitzer said in a statement to Fox News.

Has anyone actually seen ووشو? If I understand it right, it’s a combination of gymnastics and martial arts. They don’t actually fight each other. They showcase their moves individually and get points for various moves.

Iran lost few golds when competing with Chinese athletes in ووشو today.
