Comments: Shahryar, Both games ended up being a mind game near the end. In both games, Iran seemed out of it before the game was over. U17 was doing well but the 94th minute goal just threw them off. They missed 3 penalties!!! TM was in full control (I actually watched the game). They were doing great until the mistake and the goal. After the goal (2-1), they just gave up and were trying to kill time and end the game. I really don’t understand why! Uzbekistan was not a strong team but ran the whole game and really wanted to win. The last 15-20 minutes looked like we were playing Brazil or Germany. We were just kicking the ball away!!!
Comments: Sad day indeed, Zinsky. I expected our U-17 team to not do well today, but for a moment I thought we may actually go through/ Nevertheless, Morocco is a very good team as I stated earlier. This was still a good showing for our young boys and I expect them will do better in the future. As for the TM, the good news is that there are many more games to come, and all this is really for preparation. This is a kind of result that CQ would take full advantage of to make our team better for the remaining games. Whether the current coach has that capability remains to be seen.
