Comments: رشتی, Enjoy La Jolla. The fees/taxes are getting out of hand. I don’t know who comes up with these but very quickly it becomes the norm. Very soon they will install meters in each hotel room to collect extra for water, electricity, heating/cooling and other utilities! I mean delivery charges for room service? I didn’t order food from some fancy restaurant outside the hotel. It was from the restaurant in the lobby? $10 delivery charge for a $30 snacks (fruits, chip and dip)!!! They took the elevator from lobby to 8th floor to deliver the snacks! I’m more than happy to tip the guy bringing the food but come on…

Comments: Faramarz, Europe used to be more expensive than America in general. It’s not anymore. I like the fact that most prices includes taxes and fees. At least you know what you are going to pay upfront. Travel industry went through a rough time after 9/11 and again during Covid. They decided to add multiple fees & taxes and mostly hide them from customers until the last payment! Resort fees, bag fees, select seat fees, service charges and… My hotel room was $285. I ended up paying $365. 5 different types of taxes and fees. They keep talking about 3-5% inflation! What are they counting? Everything is about 20-30% higher than before Covid. Forget housing and rental costs. Basic food, gas, transportation and utilities are almost 30+% above 2 years ago. I have no idea how this could be sustained. Younger generations are not going to have much with basic jobs. I suppose it’s better than 50+% in Iran but still out of reach for most.
