Comments: Wasn’t Taremi disqualified last time we played Japan?
Comments: Here is my assessment of the games we played so far in this tournament: Against Quality Rating Result (1 to 10) Palestine Good 6.0 Win (4-1) Hong Kong Bad 3.5 Win (1-0) UAE Very Good 7.5 Win (2-1) Syria Awful 2.0 Draw (1-1) (perfect PKs) Regardless of our results, where puts us in the Quarter Finals, none of the earlier performances is good enough to beat Japan. In fact we have to step up quite a bit even from the UAE game to beat Japan. Now, without Taremi, which I think is the heart of our team, this is substantially more arduous, if not impossible. There is one possibility, which is that our team steps up a lot for their leader (Taremi), since he feels guilty for getting kicked out, and on order to save him, they play their best in the tournament, like they did during the penalties today. In fact, I think Taremi;s involvement with PKs at the end helped them do so well. So, for Taremi, we may actually step up and be able to beat Japan.
Comments: I’m assuming against Japan we will play a defensive game. Our defense did relatively well today but Syria is not Japan. GN got lucky today. We should have scored 3-4 goals before Taremi was sent off. After that Syria could have scored few. Either way, we made it to the next round and that’s good news for now.

Comments: I have to say that I do not believe in this bad-good theory. I more believe in bad va badtar theory at this point. I hope I am wrong but against Japan we will have a hard time, especially now that Taremi is out and Sardar is really not in the mood! There goes our front line that we are so proud of.

Comments: In short, Beiro saved the day for GN. Against Japan, we are toast. We played for nearly 40 minutes without a scorer against a mid level Asian team. This really sucks.

Comments: To be honest, I thought he was hit. The thing about him is that unlike what people say, he does not dive. But what he does is that he has very long strides which most defenders misjudge. He throws the ball forward seemingly beyond his reach, but still can reach it. This causes a lot of collisions due to misjudging, but they are collisions and legitimate calls. Most have been called in Europe in his favor as well. He has won many PKs for Porto this way. Whether this was a PK or not, I thought it was because I thought there was a hit.
