Comments: We came in to this tournament assuming that our best defense will be our offense. Against Palestinian, we did just that. After that game, it hasn’t been the same. We do create lots of opportunities but between Azmoun and Taremi, they missed so many chances. I’m not sure why they don’t seem to be fully in the game. I said this before the tournament! It’s a fully feeling many (even players) have about the whole Iran vs IRI and possibly GN as the coach. I’m sure it bothers some thinking GN would be the coach to take us all the way in Asian cup after 50 years. I’m not a fan of GN but if he is the SOB who can help us win the games, hell! I can live with it.

Comments: What a game. I think this was our worst game of this tournament yet. I see a lot of issues in the team, especially in the front line. It is like the players did not want to win. By the way, I thought Torabi was injured. But he played in the end. He is a good player. Why is he not playing?
Comments: One negative in today's game was what I saw as too much love between Taremi and Azmoun, several times one should have taken a shot but decided to pass to the other and we lost the chance. I think that's what GN meant in his interview about the big players not playing big. As far as GN is concerned his calmness helped the team play more than 45 minutes with 10 men and not give an inch to the other team. I bet he was angry and frustrated but he did not show it to help his players. And it worked!
Comments: The game today started great for TM but got complicated in the second half. Everything that was not supposed to happen did happen but at the end TM showed that they are indeed a good team because they advanced despite all the complications. There were several positives that I saw in the game. First the players remained calm and confident throughout the 120 minutes they played. That was very important to get the win. Shoja got up quickly after he was hit in the head and did not try to grass roll, none of the players argued with the ref after the penalty against TM, Taremi did not argue with the ref after each yellow card. This is very new for TM and shows the players are focused and confident. We are going to miss Taremi against Japan just like 4 years ago, I guess the football gods don't want him to face Japan! Comments: I can't disagree with you lol. His management style is fohsh o fohsh kaari. May be that worked in Parvin's time, when he was the coach. But it does not now. Players like Sardar and Taremi will not put up with that and the whole team will go to hell.
