Comments: For Iran, to solidify their victory, they have to "Frame" it in such a way that Trump can still declare victory as well. Once they throw him that "bone", this deal can be wrapped up quickly. The problem is the democrats will NOT have it. They want the war to drag on as long as possible, so the economy suffers more, so they can have their victory in the mid-term. They wish to get the House and possibly the Senate back. As a result, they are making a big deal about any and every concession that trump is making with Iran and are blowing them out of proportion. Democrats will not let Trump have his day here, since they see him cornered, and they taste blood. They care less about Iran and Iranians, and simply want their victory.
Comments: There have been a lot of discussions and speculations regarding the outcome of this war. Without going into detail, I can say with confidence that Iran has surprised pretty much everyone in the world with their resilience and response, no one more surprised than US and Israel, who expected Iran to fold within 48 hours. Instead, Iran responded with so much power that caught them off-guard, turning the table on them. In fact, in many circles, there are consensus that Iran has already won these wars and they just have to "Frame" is properly to finish it officially.
Comments: Here are my prediction: Iran 1 - NZ 0 Iran 0 - Belgium 0 Iran 0 - Egypt 2 I expect Iran to advance as the 2nd in the group, or possibly as one of the best 3rd place teams.
Comments: I wish I could do the predictions this year also, as I have done in the past 5 World Cups (20 years!). But I am not sure I have the time. With 48 teams, there are a lot more games to predict, which I may not have the time to do this justice, not to mention not quite feeling the enthusiasm this year 
Comments: Salam again Zinsky JAn, I knew you were thinking of leaving the States, as some of your posts implied that last year. It appears that the recent events finally convinced you to move. It is our loss and their gain to have you. Hopefully, you stay on the board and continue to share your thoughts and wisdom with us. I know at one time, you were thinking of moving to Portugal, but I also know it has been more difficult to move there recently.
Comments: Thank you Faramarz Jan for the kind words..., the School's Dean (or the writer) said it correctly, things that we love are being taken away and it makes us feel helpless, not to mention sad. "Life" is as it is, leaves us with no choice but suffering, but as you said, it also reminds us to treasure and value what we have left.

They don’t even seem like big points,” he said. “They’ve conceded the fact that they will not have nuclear weapons. We had a clause in there that [they] will not develop nuclear weapons. And everybody was very happy with it except me.” Trump said he wanted an additional provision to ensure Iran can’t execute an end run around a deal. “And I said, ‘Well, what happens if they, not develop, but they go out and purchase, they acquire? I want to put the word, ‘if they buy, purchase or acquire,’” he said. “You know, you’ve got to have that in there, too, because that’s not developing. So, they don’t have the right to develop or purchase, acquire or buy.” He added that the Iranians pushed back “a little bit” on his demand. “And then they didn’t.” Trump said that he is finding Iran’s new leadership to be “more rational, very smart” after attacks by Israel and the U.S. killed former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and many of his lieutenants. Khamenei’s son, Mojtaba Khamenei, has taken his father’s place and is “part of” the approval process for a deal, Trump said, adding that he is open to direct talks with the new supreme leader. “I would if he’d like to,” Trump said, “but I have not spoken to him directly.” The president favorably compared Mojtaba Khamenei, who has not been seen in public since the war began, to his father. “Younger. I think more rational,” Trump said. “Injured. He’s pretty badly injured. So there’s a certain bravery there. A lot of people, if they were injured that badly, they wouldn’t be talking about, you know, ‘How are we doing with the United States?’ They’d have other things on their mind. So there’s a certain bravery there. But he is very seriously injured.” Trump declined to say definitively whether he knows the Iranian leader’s exact location or whether that location is in Iran. “I don’t want to say whether or not I know where he is,” Trump said. “But there’s a good probability that I do.”
Comments: “The war has proved unpopular, with polls consistently showing a majority of the public opposes it. Sixty-eight percent of adults said the U.S. “should make a deal to end the war in Iran as quickly as possible” in an Economist/YouGov survey released this week, including 55% of voters who favored Trump in the 2024 election. Trump campaigned that year in part on the reminder that he had started “no new wars” in his first term. But the president suggested in the interview that Americans should have more patience with Iran, adding that part of the challenge in turning around a quick peace plan is that it requires a full reversal of Tehran’s longtime stance toward the U.S. “Because they’re strong. They’re proud,” he said of the Iranians. “There are things they never thought they’d be doing that they’re going to have to do. They’ve got no choice. And it takes a little while. You know, you’re talking about 47 years of getting away with whatever they wanted.””
Comments: I also feel really bad about the TM and their situation. About half of them are not going to play for TM much longer. The rest are still hoping to get recruited by some overseas teams. They are mostly just doing their job under the circumstances. I would understand not supporting them (stay home) but trying to undermine them by Iranian fans is not what I consider fair. This won’t be the first time, nor the last time the fans show up to call them “besharaf” or anything similar.

Comments: Shahryar Jan, I was thinking about you the other day. It’s so good to hear from you. I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m glad you had a chance to be around them and take care of them. For me, the hardest part is that I couldn’t be around much. My sister back home took the responsibility while working and raised her own kids. I mentioned this to Faramarz in a private chat but I’m moving to Europe in few months. I’m still hoping I can visit/stay in Iran and take care of mom as much as possible. Much more than I could before my father passed away. Good to hear from you, as always. Stay in touch when possible. I would love to have your predictions as well if you are in the mood. I do my best but can’t promise it will be as good as yours prediction process!!!

Comments: Shahryar jAn, for me, and perhaps for many others, football is a way of distraction from the shit news all around where governments around the world advertise their inhumane objectives and justify them through the support of a very small misinformed minority. So, Zinsky has started a prediction contest as sort of a distraction from the bad news we receive every day. If you feel like it, join us in the prediction competition.
Comments: About our team, I share your concerns. The shahollahis have gotten themselves into the corner of demise that MojAhedin got themselves into, namely betrayal of the country and its people, siding with an enemy that wages war against Iran and its people. I think RPG fans did one better than mojAhedin. They sided with a regimes that was in the middle of a genocide and clearly advertising that its objective was the destruction of Iran and not a regime change. Like you said all we have left now is the Gheirat. There has been no preparation, no moral support, mental decline because of the war, and the corrupt FIFA allowing a world cup host not to permit a participating team to be in the country. All because they lost a war that they started for the convenience of another country. This is insane.

I am very sorry to hear that your father passed away.
