Comments: Shahryar Jan, I started the process to move to Portugal 4-5 years ago. I don’t expect any government help so it should be relatively easy. I have applied for the residency and it is already approved. I was telling Faramarz that the new rules in Portugal made it easier for retirees to get residency and citizenship in 5 years. All one needs is a steady income (Social Security) of at least $1,000. No benefits other than medical insurance for low premiums.
