Comments: For U.S. coach Gregg Berhalter, having the 2026 World Cup final played in New Jersey adds another layer of incentive. Berhalter grew up not far from MetLife Stadium, the venue that will host the championship match of the expanded 48-nation, 104-game tournament. "If there wasn’t motivation already to try to get to the final, there’s a little bit of extra motivation now to be playing, potentially 15 minutes away from where I grew up, in a World Cup final," Berhalter said in an interview with The Associated Press on Monday. "It would really be a dream come true ... We really want to make the country proud." FIFA awarded the July 19 final to the home of the NFL’s New York Jets and Giants, which opened in 2010. It will cap the first tournament spread across three nations, with Mexico and Canada hosting 13 matches each.
Comments: Qatar is doing everything in their power to take advantage of their home game and their influence in AFC to win the game tomorrow. TM has no choice but to play their best game and avoid any 50/50 calls that will go against them. They can't get emotional and let the fans, ref and the rest ruin this for them. Comments: DOHA – Iran defender Saeid Ezatolahi has questioned the appointment of a Kuwaiti referee for their Asian Cup semi-final against hosts and holders Qatar on Feb 7. Ahmed Al-Ali is reportedly set to take charge of the game in Doha and Ezatolahi said it was “a little bit surprising”. “We are wondering how it’s possible that they put an Arabic guy in charge of the game,” Ezatolahi, who plays for Danish club Vejle, said on Feb 6. “But we are Iran, we are a very big team, we have good players, we are professional.” The Asian Football Confederation did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Iran are trying to win the Asian Cup for the first time since 1976 and reached the semi-finals after beating pre-tournament favourites Japan 2-1. On the eve of the Qatar clash, Iran coach Amir Ghalenoei also hit out at some of the officiating at the tournament, saying “VAR (the video assistant referee) has not been very kind to us”. “We could have had a penalty against Japan but VAR did not check it for us,” he said. “We have to be stronger than everything that is happening at this tournament.” Qatar are the defending champions and beat Uzbekistan on penalties to advance to the semi-finals. Asked about the referee for the semi-final, Qatar coach Marquez Lopez said he was “only focusing on my own team”.
Comments: Our own KAmkAr, really? I did not know he played at that level. Great for him. Had I known, I would have come to the game as well. As for Simply Ken, yes, he did move to Iran, got married, started a law firm with three other partners (I still have the brochure), and then after many years moved to Switzerland (I believe). I met up with him in Iran. He and his wife were very gracious hosts to my family and I. He was very kind and was really hoping that we would visit them a lot more. Unfortunately, we were there only for a few weeks and then had to come back. He is a great guy, but the bickering and arguments became too much for him. He had (and still does) have an obsession with football and would go through a great deal of analysis of each and every game, provide line ups and more. It is a shame that we lost him and a lot of a number of great people through the bickering, bullying, smearing, and finally impersonations. All of this continues to this day. 
Comments: Faramarz Jan, My predictions are also reflected correctly in the table; thanks. I remember Simply Ken of course; I had heard that he went back to Iran, and then he occasionally would post. Then he just simply disappeared. One time, several of us planned to meet to watch a Galaxy game when another MLS team came to town with Kamkar playing for them (I don't remember which team it was). It was in fact several of us planning to meet, but it didn't happen. The game was fun. Every time Kamkar would touch the ball, the whole stadium which was mostly Iranians would erupt. Galaxy and for that matter, Rose Bowl had never seen that level of enthusiasm, lol.

Comments: I remember back in teh days of Simply Ken, the same people and so, the same behaviors, were there. He asked the same question and I gave him the same answer. He had a good laugh. Sadly, nothing has changed.

Nothing more to be expected. By impersonating others, they are carrying the chores of other people. Back home they are called hammAl.
