After couple of years of very little snow, they are predicting this one coming tomorrow morning to be a big one. Depending on the location anywhere between 6 to 36 inches are predicted. Near the city (where I am) should get about 6-10 inches. Further west & north (near higher elevation) could get 3 ft of snow.
One thing I learned about weather prediction in this area is that they have no idea! It’s a guessing game.

I didn't feel any of them.

How is the weather in your neighborhood? I heard a big storm is heading your way. We have sunny skies for a change but last night was 39 degrees!

Lots of goals in that Futsal game. #5 is good. but she did not celebrate after any of her goals. It also looked like she played as the keeper part of the match but still came forward to score.

I also watched that debate that I think Rashti posted. Very interesting debate. In that dialog Albdolkarimi said something we have been saying here for a long time that the reason IRI is still there is not because they are so good at what they do, but because there is no good alternative. All these roshanfekrs and opposition leaders do not add up to a papasi. No one wants to follow them. When these people actually present themselves as "roshanfekr" the term becomes meaningless.

Roshanfekr used to be a pretty good term in Shah's era and still after the revolution until the consequences of the revolution became known. Back then, some level of education in the subject matter was assumed. The term then became meaningless when people started calling themselves that or at least claiming the statute without saying it. Sports casters, waiters, entertainers, who made it to Los Angeles and somehow got a foot into the door of one of these CIA/Mosad funded channels started calling themselves that or at least claim the statute without saying it directly. Manouk Khodabakhshian is a great example of this, as are nearly a hundred other idiots on Arab/Mosad/CIA TVs.  Now, the term is almost always used sarcastically. :)

Good morning. Ghaedi? Really? He didn't even play in the last two games. And before that he was only part of each game. And even better is that Japan has no player in there. the best team in Asia. I guess they are pissed that they let Iran go passed them. [biggrin]

I might be biased but I think this was the best commercial during Super Bowl. I also think the Kennedy president commercial was the strangest one!

What is the meaning of "RoshanFekr" when used in Iranian political system? Does it mean progressive, liberal, ...?

It is what some call themselves or it's a label other use to describe them?

Based on my little knowledge of the Iranian political arena, it seems no one is using it as a "good" thing to be one. The people who are pro régime are using it as stupid people who believe western system is better and the anti-regime group accused them of helping the regime by thinking the system could better itself slowly.

Turkish Super Lig club Fenerbahce is reportedly working on overtaking Inter Milan in the race for Mehdi Taremi.
The 31-year-old Iranian will become a free agent at the end of the season once his contract with Porto expires.
The Nerazzurri have been negotiating with the player’s entourage for quite some time now. Many sources believe that the Italian giant is on the verge of finalizing an agreement with the striker.
With less than six months remaining on his contract, Taremi can now sign a pre-contract with a new club.
However, a report from Turkey suggests that Inter could still end up missing out on the player’s signature.

Very interesting! One player from Iran and not who you expect! Of course Qatar has 4 players in the list.

I assume in few years, VAR or a better version of it will replace the referee all together. There might be a human upstairs to confirm the outcome but there won’t be a need for a guy running around in the field.
Just like any technology (AI specifically) could be biased based on how it is programmed. Biased can’t be completely removed, either by humans or machines!

That was an exciting Super Bowl. I didn’t have a favorite but it was still fun watching the game. I lived in DC area for 10 years and was a huge fan of then called red skins. They won the super-bowl twice during that time.
After that they declined and I couldn’t find another team to cheer for. Didn’t like the chargers much. My kids became a big fan of Patriots (still are).
I watch the Super Bowls each year but with less intensity than before. It’s better to have one favorite (TM) at my age. Can’t get emotional all the time!!!😜

By the way, some friends were discussing super bowl today and one said that this was a shitty super bowl except for the last quarter. The other said I agree, but at least it wasn't rigged like the AFC final. [biggrin]

I really liked this discussion. Finally something intelligent that does not make me puke! I liked Abdolkarimi's perspective and how he was dissecting issues. Zibakalam reminds me of folks we know. He is, as Abdolkarimi put it, khodbAkhte (good word to keep in mind). Everything we do or are is bad, everything west represents is great and should be worshiped. Questioning it is blasphemy.

Was this show broadcast in Iran? They both did quite a bit of criticism.

Watching this show made me realize why we are in disagreement so frequently with the other side. They take everything coming out of non iranians as the bible, but our group likes to question things. The whole VAR discussion is a good example. What VAR did or did not must be right blindly! This argument does not fly here with you guys though. We see it as our right to question things. Happy to be in this group!
