Agha Ashkan, if I may suggest some things that might help you. I think most here consider you as a pest from the other site impersonating and trying to stir trouble.

So, my friend, you have no respect here until you actually demonstrate that you are the humanitarian that you pretend to be.

Otherwise showing up here with a fake handle and demanding people to follow you for your cause is only the material for a comedy classic, the various versions of which, we have seen over and over from the other site.

Just my two cents.

Good morning everyone and evening to Farid.

Campus unrest continues across united states as Maghsoud and lol have posted some. In California Humboldt seems to be the worst but many other campuses are not far behind. USC in particular is also heating up. There were some science meetings with Humboldt folks that I know have been canceled because of the unrest. They have activated their "Emergency Command Center". Turns out the government has been preparing the universities for this eventuality and have organization in place to make campuses act like a military unit!In the mix of all this, that aspect also has not gone over well at all. So, some issues are being combined here.

Agha Zinsky, you were asking what students r demanding. Here is their worst demand.

Let me see 853 dead on one side and nearly 100,000 on the other. I think I will fuss about the 853 and cheer on the killing of the 100,000.

Rumors are (not really) that American universities are calling their counterparts in Iran asking how to stop the students from causing trouble! After all, Iran has been dealing with this for nearly 45+ years!!!

Campus Protests Over Gaza Intensify Amid Pushback by Universities and Police

There were more than 120 new arrests as universities moved to prevent pro-Palestinian encampments from taking hold as they have at Columbia University.

Police officers in helmets and face shields wade into a large crowd of protesters, some of them carrying signs.

A wave of pro-Palestinian protests spread and intensified on Wednesday as students gathered on campuses around the country, in some cases facing off with the police, in a widening showdown over campus speech and the war in Gaza.

University administrators from Texas to California moved to clear protesters and prevent encampments from taking hold on their own campuses as they have at Columbia University, deploying police in tense new confrontations that already have led to dozens of arrests.

At the same time, new protests continued erupting in places like Pittsburgh and San Antonio. Students expressed solidarity with their fellow students at Columbia, and with a pro-Palestinian movement that appeared to be galvanized by the pushback on other campuses and the looming end of the academic year.

Protesters on several campuses said their demands included divestment by their universities from companies connected to the Israeli military campaign in Gaza, disclosure of those and other investments and a recognition of the continuing right to protest without punishment.

The demonstrations spread overseas as well, with students on campuses in Cairo, Paris and Sydney, Australia, gathering to voice support for Palestinians and opposition to the war.

As new protests were emerging, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, visited the Columbia campus in New York, where university officials were seeking to negotiate with protest leaders to end the encampment of around 80 tents still pitched on a central campus lawn.

Mr. Johnson said the school’s president, Nemat Shafik, should resign if she could not immediately get the situation under control, calling her an “inept leader” who had failed to guarantee the safety of Jewish students.

The speaker said there could be an appropriate time for the National Guard to be called in, and that Congress should consider revoking federal funding if universities could not keep the protests under control.

WASHINGTON (AP) — About one-quarter of U.S. adults age 50 and older who are not yet retired say they expect to never retire and 70% are concerned about prices rising faster than their income, an AARP survey finds.

About 1 in 4 have no retirement savings, according to research released Wednesday by the organization that shows how a graying America is worrying more and more about how to make ends meet even as economists and policymakers say the U.S. economy has all but achieved a soft landing after two years of record inflation.

Faramarz,

Problems & issues around the world which are caused by crazy guys always turn the citizens to ask for more crazy people to fix them!!!

I think humanity has done this so many times in the past that they are used to it even though it usually doesn't go well.

STRONG MEN have come and gone over and over again. Almost never it works out, but some believe they are the only hope for change.

I think every once in a while, humanity allows it to forget the bitter lessons in history. We have had rounds of dictators popularly come into power and then destroy everything in site. The world then has to work hard just to get rid of the problem and get back to where it was.

This is happening right now and it has started from America, this time. People like Trump set the example of how to get into power through abusing people's fears. And then when they get into power, because they know too well that they do not deserve the power, they use corruption and dictatorship to shut people up and stay in power. This is happening in America, right now. The problem is that it is systematic. It is not individual-based so that getting rid of the individual can solve the problem. The system needs to be undone. People like Sanders who propose to gracefully undo the system so that America does not lose leadership and lead the world into a better place are a rarity and marginalized. So, I share your concerns Zinsky.

As I was always worried, America is becoming more like Iran than ever before. What happened to this country? University students are attacked by special forces? News outlets are for propaganda. Money only flows one way! Not good at all…
Most of us were hoping for Iran to become more like America. Oh well! It went the other way…
